SUN Summer Camp at Buckman K-5
Are any of your families looking for low-cost summer camp support? My name is Clara and I'm the SUN (Schools Uniting Neighborhoods) site manager at Buckman Elementary.
This summer, we are offering a variety of inspiring and enriching summer camp options for K-5 students, and opening our doors to students from all over the city. While we usually only have capacity to serve the Buckman school community, we are thrilled to invite others to witness and benefit from the Community School model.
Check out our Summer Catalog, filled with courses led by seasoned and enthusiastic teachers. We offer week-long classes, or one-day classes, from 9am-12pm Monday through Thursday, from July 8 to August 1.
Some highlights include:
- Yoga and gardening on Mondays 9am-12pm
- 3 O'Clock Rock! Form a band, learn to play a new instrument, make album art, record an EP, and perform! (two week commitment)
- Ballet the Black Way: Whether your student wants to deepen their dance skills and technique, or try ballet for their first time, Jill is a wonderful teacher to guide them and grow their love for the self-expressive art!
- Kids Love Languages! Spanish class with a beloved, native-speaking instructor who weaves age groups and skill levels.
- First Grade Reading Support!
- Chess Club!
- Photography!
- So much more!
Families can register their student online through this portal.
Reach out to Clara Schneid at Buckman SUN (cschneid@impactnw.org) for more information and scholarship options.
