Notes from East Hill Elementary
May 10, 2024
Dear East Hill Families,
I hope this message finds you all well and enjoying the spring season. As we reflect on another eventful week at East Hill Elementary, I want to extend my gratitude to our incredible community for your ongoing support and involvement.
First and foremost, a heartfelt thank you to all the families who attended our East Hill Open House this past Wednesday evening. It was truly inspiring to see our school buzzing with excitement as students proudly showcased their projects. Your presence and encouragement mean the world to us, and we are grateful for your continued partnership in your child's education. I also want to express our appreciation to everyone who took advantage of the shuttle bus service to attend the event. Your commitment to participating in school activities is commendable, and we are grateful for your efforts to make the evening a success. A special thank you to St. Joseph's Church for graciously allowing us to utilize their parking lot, which ensured smooth transportation for all.
Furthermore, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated PTA for organizing an unforgettable Educator Appreciation Week. From the delicious treats and coffee served from the food truck to the heartfelt messages adorning our walkways, and the excitement of the gift card raffle, every gesture was deeply appreciated. Your love and support truly make a difference in the lives of our staff, and we are grateful for your generosity.
Additionally, I want to thank the PTA for their hard work in organizing our successful book fair. Your commitment to promoting literacy and providing enriching reading materials for our students is invaluable, and we appreciate all that you do.
In other news, our third and fourth grade students showcased their hard work during the NYS math assessment this week, and our kindergarten students enjoyed a delightful visit to the zoo. They also had the privilege of learning about weather from meteorologist Kate Thornton, enriching their understanding of the world around them.
Looking ahead, our grade 3 and 4 chorus, orchestra, and band have been diligently preparing for our upcoming concert on Monday evening at 7:00 pm at the WGHS Auditorium. It promises to be a memorable event, and we hope to see you there to support our talented students.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or feedback. Your involvement and support are deeply appreciated, and together, we can continue to make East Hill Elementary a place where every child thrives.
Love,
~Susan

Students to Receive Free Breakfast and Lunch Meals
We are pleased to announce that all students enrolled at West Genesee CSD will be able to receive a FREE breakfast and lunch meal at school beginning December 1.
This implementation is a result of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) expanding access to the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). CEP allows eligible schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs to offer school meals at no charge to all students.
What does this mean for your child(ren) attending the school(s) identified above?
Effective 12/1/2023, all students enrolled at West Genesee CSD will be able to receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day regardless of the familyβs household income. Milk is free with a full meal. No further action is required of you.
