WGHS Art Wing Springs to Life
National Art Honor Society students at Walnut Grove bring life to their Fine Arts wing with two murals. Club members voted to spend club funds to purchase the supplies needed to brighten the art wing. A special shout out to NAHS member Madalena Hepfer whose designs were selected for both murals.
Art Students Explore Mixed Media in Still Life Drawings
Honors Art 1 students learn to break away from using one medium in order to complete a piece of artwork. After creating a contour line drawing of their still life they were challenged to revise their original drawing by incorporating a variety of materials and mediums.
Art Students Master Depth and Color with Cross Contour Lines
Art 1 Students at Walnut Grove learn to create the illusion of depth on a 2-D surface using cross contour lines effectively. They were prompted to use analogous color shading in areas of their work while some chose to keep their piece solely cross contour line.

After a week of learning about the history and significance of The Nutcracker ballet, Rushing and Reynolds Dance students enjoyed a professional performance of the holiday classic by Ballet Frontier in Fort Worth on December 5. Holiday Cheer in 8-Bit Style!
PHS Music Production is excited to share a special project that they recently completed! Students explored the unique sound of 8-bit music, learning how to create melodies inspired by classic video game tunes. As part of this project, they reimagined traditional Christmas carols in true 8-bit style. They've compiled their creative works into a YouTube playlist for you to enjoy this holiday season.
