New Information
Counselor Information
On behalf of our school counseling program, we’d like to wish all our families a Happy New Year and welcome to the second semester.
As students return to school we’d like to emphasize the importance of routines for our students. Children thrive on familiarity, consistency, and predictability of routines and now is a great time to review routines with your child(ren) and to make any “tweaks” that will enhance your child’s preparedness for school. The below is from HeadStart.Gov on routines:
“Schedules and routines in the group care setting and at home help children:
Feel in control of their environment
Feel safe, secure, and comfortable
Know what is happening now and what comes next
Know how to do an activity or task
Engage in learning”

The Junior Library Guild National Library Week theme for 2025 is “ Drawn to the Library!” and they need your readers’ artistic skills to help celebrate…
From January 1 to March 6, readers are encouraged to submit their very own JLG bookmark design!
To participate, have your child pick up a blank Bookmark Template in the Library! Return the finished bookmark to Mrs. Coldren for submission.
Rules Contest Winners
Designs will be judged by members of the JLG Team—as this is a staff favorite! — and while artistic skill will be considered, we are more interested in what your readers have to say. Encourage your readers to let their ideas flow and interpret the book however they find it meaningful!
3 winners will be chosen from each age group: elementary, middle, and high school.
Winning libraries will be contacted via email in April. Follow JLB on social media on social media for updates!
