Important Information for Families - Week of 9/30/24
A message from Mr. Romero
I am thrilled to share that our Panther Fun Run was a tremendous success! Thanks to the incredible support from our families and community, we raised over $30,000! This fundraising effort will significantly enhance our programs and resources at South Lakewood.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the families who participated and helped make this event a reality. Your enthusiasm and generosity truly make a difference for our students.
I also want to extend our deepest gratitude to the PTA for their hard work and dedication in organizing the Fun Run. Their commitment to our school is inspiring, and we couldn’t have done it without them!
IMPORTANT! Student Benefits Application
THE FORM MUST BE COMPLETED BY 9/30 IN ORDER TO HAVE STUDENT FEES WAIVED!
Although all students will receive meals at no cost, it’s still helpful for households to provide income information. Gathering this information allows South Lakewood to receive state and federal funding we qualify for. These funds go directly to schools to help cover the cost of meals and support after-school activities and other nutritional programs for students. Plus, qualifying households may be eligible to receive Summer EBT benefits, receive discounted school fees, class materials, bus passes, utilities support and more. If you have any questions about the program, please contact us at the information provided below. Apply here: School Café

October Count Day!
It’s official – October Count Day this year is Tuesday, October 1.
The most important action you can take to support school funding is to make sure your student attends school on that day. Much of public education funding from the State of Colorado is based on student count, so we encourage you to make sure your student comes to school that day.
The “count window” the state observes is from Tuesday, September 24 through Tuesday, October 8, but the most important student count day is Tuesday, October 1. Help us get an accurate count by having your student participate in learning that day.
If your student will be absent on Tuesday, October 1 due to illness, please call our attendance line, 303-982-7325 to report the absence. Attendance during the “count window” will help counteract an absence on Tuesday, October 1.
Thank you for your support of South Lakewood Elementary. Every student counts!
