Thanksgiving at FHS
Vol 2 🦃
🧡 Ferguson Friends-Giving 🧡
Communicating gratitude is always important, but especially at Thanksgiving. Here at FHS we love to celebrate this time of giving in true Ferguson tradition with our FHS Thanksgiving lunch. This is a time for staff and students to slow down and enjoy each other's company before dismissing for our week long break. This moment is cherished by so many of us here and we look forward to it each year. From our family to yours, we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving!

📏 Content Corner - Math Department 📚
Featuring Judy Gustafson and Mike Veje -
This school year the math department has been engaging in training with the All Learners Network. One of the strategies we have been employing since beginning the new training is starting our classes with a "launch". A launch is a picture or series of pictures to start a conversation. The most important aspect of the launches is that all answers are correct. Students are just responding to an image and all of their observations are valid. The goal is for everyone to be able to engage in conversation and feel part of the class. We have also added a new math offering for students at Ferguson, Introduction to Statistics. This class is for students who need a 3rd year math class to fulfill math requirements. This is a great class for any student who plans to continue their education at a community college or a 4 year college as Statistics is a requirement for almost every degree. The student engagement in math this year is very high and it is nice to see our students challenging themselves and learning to be successful in all of their classes.

We believe!
Beautiful sunshine day!
Teamwork makes the dream work!
🍪 Affirmation Nation ☮️
Once a month our students and staff fill out a form if they want to send a little affirmation to a friend. When the form gets completed, our Nutrition and Wellness students craft a sweet treat and print the affirmation to be delivered to students and staff in 7th hour. We believe in acknowledging each other on a regular basis because everyone deserves a little sunshine added to their day.
