Congratulations to Mr. Conner McNeely. He was selected by the Indiana Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese as its 2023 Indiana Teacher of the Year - High School Category.

Honor Roll

Congratulations to the 1,203 students who earned Honor Roll status for the first quarter (367 A Honor Roll and 836 B Honor Roll). The students were recognized with certificates and received a drink and a snack to celebrate their success.

Abigail Dortch

Ms. Dortch's English class was working in groups to create character bios for Greek legends. The groups were listing the character's journey, traits, and relations.

Jostens Senior Meeting

Jostens' representative, Brad Long, spoke with the Class of 2024 about ordering their graduation announcements, caps & gowns, other senior gear. He will be back to SHS this Wednesday during all lunches to take orders.

Mildred Delgado

Ms. Delgado with the assistance of students, put together an ofrenda outside of the interpreters' office for the Dia de los Muertos celebration. She along with other students and staff put pictures of departed loved ones on the ofrenda as a rememberance that their presence is everlasting.

Sam Hanley, Mike Klopfenstein & the Publications Students

Mr. Hanley and Mr. Klopfenstein traveled to Boston with a group of students for the JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism convention. Along with the Spotlight Journalism sessions, the crew was also able to visit Harvard College.

Adam Morelock, Stephanie Schott, Annie Thomas & Mike Gehlert

The winter sports season offiially kicked off last week. The girls basketball team is coached this year by Adam Morelock, Stephanie Schott, Annie Thomas and Mike Gehlert. The JV team won their first game with a 32-30 come from behind victory. The varsity team is still looking for their first win, but the young Cardinals are battling hard and improving each game.
