NYES Update

Good afternoon! I hope you all had a great Spring Break! Mrs. Vogt and I worked over Spring Break, we have begun planning for next year. In the same note, please send in all open enrollment paperwork and if you have a student wanting to enroll in Preschool/Kindergarten, please call the office during school hours so we can make a registration appointment. There's a lot of planning that goes into a new year and we want to be sure to have a good count for each grade level. Thank you!

Please know there is a hard stop at drop off at 8:50. Class starts right at 8:50AM and I have teachers who need to get back in the building and begin classes. We have had several parents showing up right at 8:50AM. Please do your best to get here a little ahead of 8:50AM so our teachers can get to class. Thank you!

There will be no preschool on Monday, April 21st. This is due to staff professional development. Thank you!

Summer School will be June 2nd-June 27th. The flyers for Summer School are going home today or were sent home yesterday. Please fill that out as soon as possible and send back in so we can plan for staffing. Please send them back in no later than May 7th! Thank you!

With the beginning of a new month and in April, brings on the many required assessments for our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. On Wednesday, April 16th and Thursday, April 17th, students in grades 3-5 will take the Ohio State Test (OST) in English Language Arts. How the 3rd grade students do on this assessment will determine plans for next year. The results of the 3rd grade test will determine if a student will need to or continue to receive intervention.

On Wednesday, April 23 and Thursday, April 24th, students in grades 3-5 will take the OST Math test. Finally, on Wednesday, April 30th and Thursday, May 1st-5th grade ONLY will take the Science test.

I'm including these dates now to encourage good attendance and early bed times on those days. We want the students to perform the best they can so we can continue to evaluate the teaching and learning going on everyday in the building.
