Sectional Reminders
All sectionals will return to NORMAL this week! (Reminder: Wind Ensemble Flutes will end sectionals at 5:45 PM on Friday in order to work on their music for Caroling at Admin in December)
Thank you to all for your flexibility as we navigated through two shortened school weeks.
All-Region Audition Update
Best of SKILL to our auditioners next Monday and Wednesday!
Audition times and information will go live in the next couple of days! As soon as times and audition site details are emailed to Ms. Taylor by the contest office, the information will be given to students.
PHASE ONE AT A GLANCE:
- Monday, October 28th
- All instruments except for Bass Clarinet, Tenor Saxophone, and Baritone Saxophone will audition on this night.
- Woodwinds: Auditions will take place at Stafford MS in Frisco. The first round of auditions begins at 5:30 PM, with the latest auditions ending around 9:15 PM.
- Brass and Percussion: Auditions will take place at Wilkinson MS in Frisco. The first round of auditions begins at 5:30 PM, with the latest auditions ending around 9:15 PM.
- Students should plan to arrive about 30-45 minutes prior to their audition window. Students must attend their scheduled audition time.
- With 1500 students auditioning, there is not much room for audition changes; however, if there is a major conflict please let Ms. Taylor know ASAP so that an alternate time can be worked out. Some instrument groups might not be able to work out alternate times due to the nature of the auditions. Scheduling is not done by Prosper ISD and impacts students from about 30 different schools in our area.
- Ms. Taylor will send out results as soon as they are available to share. Students who make it through to Phase 2 will receive information on Tuesday during class (or as soon as it is made available, whichever happens first)
PHASE TWO AND SINGLE PHASE AT A GLANCE:
- Weds, October 30
- Bass Clarinet, Tenor Saxophone, and Baritone Saxophone: All Single Phase instruments will audition on this day. There will likely only be one block for the respective instruments and time alterations are not likely.
- All students should plan their week as if they will be called in for round 2 auditions and should plan to be busy from about 5 PM until 9:30 PM. Alternate times are not likely to be honored since this is the final round to determine placement into the 2024 All-Region Bands
- As soon as times are released, they will be communicated (this could be a 24 hour turn around this year)
- The first round will begin at 5:30 PM, final rounds will end as late as 9:15 PM.
- Location: Nelson Middle School in Frisco.
- Students who earn spots in the All-Region Band will receive their All-Region information packets on Friday, November 1st during class (or they can stop by the band hall on Thursday at the end of the day to pick up folders).
- Results will be communicated as soon as they are released to the directors!
Students who earn a spot in one of the 2024 All-Region Bands MUST attend the clinic and concert schedule in its entirety on November 15-16.
*This only pertains to Wind Ensemble and a few select Symphonic Band members.

PRIVATE LESSONS
Access at reynoldsband.com/lessons
Private lessons are a vital part of any successful band program and are what make the Reynolds band students really great musicians! Prosper ISD bands are very fortunate to have a staff of incredibly highly qualified teachers that have been vetted by the same intensive processes as all Prosper ISD school teachers. We very highly recommend that any and all band students enroll lessons offered through the Reynolds Band. Additionally, most students who take lessons from Reynolds lesson staff are able to take lessons during band class!
**Reminder: Private lessons are required for Symphonic Winds members as well as french horn, double reed, and percussion students.
Clarinet, saxophone, low brass, and percussion: Due to the high demand of for lessons from our amazing teachers at Reynolds as well as other schools, these sections tend to fill up FAST - we highly recommend signing up sooner than later to ensure a spot in the studio!
For more information about our lesson program, please visit reynoldsband.com/lessons or click the link below to enroll your child in the 2023-2024 Reynolds Band Private Lesson program today!
