As we ease into September, fall activities are picking up, and there's a lot to look forward to. From school pictures to Head of School visits, this is a great time to embrace all that SouthLake Christian has to offer. Stay tuned for exciting updates and tips on making the most of this vibrant time of year!
Fine Arts Building Progress
Site preparation is well underway, with erosion prevention measures in place and grading in progress. Anticipated piping and basin installation potentially for this week, followed by a final plan review.
Head of School Search
Excited to welcome SouthLake Christian's leading three applicants for campus tours in late September and early October.

Let's extend a heartfelt greeting to the newest members of our SouthLake Christian community; Ms. Jennifer Ramos joins as Human Resources Director and Mr. David Bullock as Assistant IT Director. Welcome aboard our Eagle team!
Athletic Team Photos - September 4
September 4th: 6-8pm
Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, September 4th, from 6:00-8:00 PM for our annual SLCA Curriculum Night for parents of 1st-8th Graders. We’ll once again host the Eagle Information Zone in the SouthLake Worship Center, featuring over a dozen information tables from various departments. You'll have the chance to meet teachers and staff, ask questions, and learn more about our programs. Classroom presentations will also be held by your child’s teachers.
5th-8th grade parents: Please begin in the SLCA Worship Center with a greeting from Mrs. Leonard, an opening prayer led by Mrs. Thomas, followed by announcements from Mrs. Boone. After that, you'll visit the information tables from 6:00-6:50 PM before moving to teacher sessions in classrooms. You'll receive your child's schedule to guide your rotations.
1st-4th grade parents: Start in classrooms with teacher sessions from 6:00-6:50 PM, then proceed to the Worship Center for a greeting from Mrs. Leonard, a prayer by Dr. Apgar, and announcements from Mrs. Boone before exploring the Eagle Information Zone.

Many thanks to all who participated in our Blood Drive on Friday. We had over 30 participants, collecting over 25 units of blood. This collection saves 75 lives! There continues to be an emergency shortage of blood throughout the Carolinas. Please consider signing up for our future drives. Mark your calendar for the following dates:

Students will step into the Middle Ages on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile and under the towering spire of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin. In Belfast, old conflicts have given way to an influx of restored 19th-century architecture and a thriving arts scene. They will spend eight days exploring and expanding our knowledge of Scottish and Irish history and culture.

Windy Gap
Windy Gap is a Young Life camp in the mountains of North Carolina where SouthLake has its junior high and upper school retreat. During our time at Windy Gap, students can unplug and focus on building relationships with their classmates, teachers, and administration. The students participate in worship, chapel services, small groups, games, and competitions. Windy Gap is always favorite and is a great way to start our school year! *Students must arrive at school by 8:15 a.m. Details will be emailed as we get closer to the trip.

Tug of War Themes: Each year the students plan a theme for the Tug of War event. All students can participate, not just the students on the tug of war teams. This year’s themes are

Freshman: Superhero
Surprise Events: The Windy Gap Planning Committee has a couple surprise events planned for all students. The themes for the events are White Out and 80’s Athletic.

Spirit Nights at the Varsity Football Games
We encourage all staff and students to wear their themed outfits at school to show enthusiasm. This will continue for each home football match. If successful, we aim to expand this practice to winter and spring athletics. Here's a list of upcoming home game themes to help you prepare.
