Session 1 Grades 2-3 - 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
Session 2 Grades 4-5 - 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
Session 3 Grades K-1 - 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Parents and guardians are welcome to attend their student’s session. Upon arrival, all adults must check in at the “Visitor Check-In” table located outside on the blacktop to receive a visitor’s sticker. The activities will take place along the southwest side of the school (playground, blacktop, field). Students participating in field day will have the opportunity to move freely between the activities. Please send an extra set of clothes with your child on Field Day just in case they get wet or muddy. Let's have a safe and fun day!

Haskell Cultural Center and Museum
The Haskell Cultural Center and Museum celebrates the strength and resiliency of the students and their contribution to what today has grown to become Haskell Indian Nations University. Punctuating the re-emergence of Indigenous expression, Haskell strives to incorporate the elements of Tribal pride and self-determination into its academics and University spirit. SPRING INTO READING NIGHT
Thank you to everyone who helped Deerfield celebrate National Reading Month with Spring Into Reading on Wednesday, March 26! We ate pizza, had a book gnome puppet read to us, opened Lawrence Public Library cards, made bookmarks and more! Special thanks to Spencer Lott and family, Lawrence Public Library and everyone who donated so many great BOOKS!
Deerfield Discovery Nights
Are you interested in attending Deerfield Discovery Nights? These evenings would allow parents/guardians to come to Deerfield in the evenings where Mrs. Moeckel and staff will provide families with a quick overview of our curriculums and how to best support your learners at home. Topics during these discovery nights would include, but not be limited to: Open Up Math, Benchmark Advanced Literacy, AVID, Universal Screeners, Character Strong, Restorative Practices, etc.
Please complete this brief survey in order to provide Mrs. Moeckel with valuable information in regards to what families would like to learn more about. Thanks!

Character Strong
Congratulations to our Character Strong Honesty winners! Our next assembly is on April 4th where we will honor our Cooperation winners.
Penny Wars! April 7th-11th
This PTO sponsored showdown directly benefits Deerfield families by raising funds for our own pantry and health office. Classes compete with a fun classroom party on the line. Each morning students can donate to the collection tubs in the hallway. They will be totaled each evening so that we can report which class is in the lead. Reminder, bills and pennies count as positive to a teacher's point total and silver coins count as negative!
Last year Deerfield families raised over $2500! Ms. Roman’s class won Penny Wars 2024. Who will win this year?!

PTO Officer Elections
PTO officer elections will take place on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 7 p.m. in the music room. Our president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary are each elected annually. Come to the meeting to vote for officers or to run for office!
PTO's bylaws require PTO to convene a nominating committee to propose candidates to ensure enough nominees to fill all of its positions. The nominating committee's nominations do not preclude anybody from running for office, and PTO expressly encourages all interested individuals to run for officer positions regardless of the committee's selections. The nominating committee has nominated the following individuals to serve for the 2025-2026 school year:
President: Nicole Beatty
Vice President: Amber Epperson
Treasurer: Cale Yost
Secretary: Jamie Reed
