Queen of Apostles School
Term 4 Week 2 - Thursday 20 October 2022
2022 Professional Development Day
Monday 7th November is the one remaining pupil free day for 2022. Please ensure you have the date in your diaries.
Open Night
It was great to welcome our families to school and the classrooms last night. There was a real buzz in the air with many excited children taking their family members on a journey around the school.
Each of the classrooms really looked the part and it was great to see the wonderful work the students have been doing. The Book Fair was very popular again and this year our Art Exhibition really added to the night.
I would like to thank the hard working and dedicated staff for the hours of work to get ready for Open Night. It is very much appreciated and I’m sure the community would agree.
Grandparents Mass/Morning Tea
Our Grandparents and Friends Mass and Morning Tea this morning was fantastic celebration and very well attended. The students did an amazing job and were very well prepared by our teachers.
It was great to have our special visitors in the classrooms and around the school. I have had some wonderful messages from parents, grandparents, staff and students saying how much they enjoyed the morning.
Well done to everyone involved!
Interschool Athletics
Our interschool athletics team will compete tomorrow at Len Shearer Reserve in the regional carnival. I wish them the best of luck and hope they have a fantastic day.
I would like to thank Mr Bridgeman for giving up his time to train and prepare these students. Parents and friends are most welcome to come and support our team.
School Disco
The school disco is on next Friday 28th October in the Parish Hall. It’s a Glitz and Glam themed disco which promises to be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see what costumes our students get dressed up in.
Junior Disco (Pre-Kindy to Year 2): 6:00pm to 7:00pm
Senior Disco (Year 3 to 6): 7.30pm to 9:00pm

Swimming Lessons
Next week our Year 1 to 6 students have swimming lessons at the Riverton Leisureplex.
Can parents please make sure the students are organised with towels, goggles and something warm to wear to and from the pool. Can parents also ensure all belongings are clearly labelled as items tend get misplaced at this time of year.
Swimming lessons will take place over the next two weeks.
Colour Explosion
The P&F colour explosion is on again this year (25th November). This is a fantastic fundraiser for the school and great fun for everyone in our community.
If you haven’t done so already the please sign up at www.australianfundraising.com.au to create your profile and start fundraising. There are some great prizes up for grabs. You have until Friday 11th November to fundraise.
COVID Portal
It is still vitally important that parents and caregivers inform the school if their child tests positive for COVID-19.
Parents and caregivers can inform the school of their child’s positive or negative COVID result via this LINK - https://cewa-collections.powerappsportals.com/COVID-19-Self-Reporting-Form/
The information will go directly to me.
If a positive result is recorded via a RAT test it must also be registered on the WA Health RAT register website -
https://datalibrary-rc.health.wa.gov.au/surveys/index.php?s=WDLLNTW4RDX8AWPH
Please do not underestimate the importance of informing us of a positive COVID case. Your actions will ensure the risk to others is minimised and that we do our very best to limit the spread of the virus across our community.
Best Wishes
Mark Ryan
Kindy Enrolments
Due to some movement in our 2023 Kindy enrolments, we now have a limited number of places that have become available.
If you know of anyone looking for a Kindy position please tell them about our wonderful school and urge them to submit an application. They will need to be quick as this class was originally filled very early in the year and these positions have only just become available.
2024
We would also encourage anyone with a child eligible for Pre-Kindy or Kindy in 2024 to submit an application as soon as possible as this class is more than half full already! Siblings are usually given first priority for future enrolments, but if we don't have your application we don't know who needs to be enrolled. Get your applications in now to avoid disappointment.
