North Playground Entry Update
Dear AE Families,
As a school, we are always looking at ways to ensure we best meet our students' needs and ensure their safety throughout the day. Because our north playground has a lot of traffic in the morning, with all elementary walkers and car riders reporting to this location, it has become tricky to allow games to continue while also ensuring the safety of all who enter our school there.
For the previously stated reasons, we will no longer allow students to play on the playground before entry for the day. Doors will still be opened and supervised beginning at 8:15. As students arrive for the day, we will ask them to report to their designated locations before going to their homerooms at 8:40.
If you have a child who has previously played on the playground during entry, I ask that you please talk with them about these changes before Monday. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me directly. I appreciate your understanding!
Kind regards,
Becky Hoover

School Spotlight
Shout-out to fifth grader, Jordan. This week he proved that hard work pays off! He was diligent in math and crushed the topic test.
Fifth-grade students attended a field trip at the Lebanon County Career and Technology Center this week. They were able to visit several classrooms, learn about different career opportunities, and learn how the CTC's programming could help them pursue these careers.
Third-grade students in Mrs. McFeaters' class were learning about buoyancy this week. In teams, students were able to design and build tin foil boats. Their goal was to stay afloat while holding the highest weight!
Mrs. Popejoy's third-graders were using observation as they were deciding if each object was a fruit or a vegetable. Can you tell the difference?
Special shoutout to fourth-grader, Rylyn! She worked hard to complete a text-dependent analysis and did an awesome job. Her work even earned her a Red Ticket!
Mr. Hitz's students in fourth, fifth and sixth grades went to LVC on a field trip! They were able to visit different departments and learn how they help to prepare students for a number of careers. They learned from physical therapy, musical theater, and environmental science during their visit!
Students in Mrs. Wilson's fourth-grade class learned about conductors and insulators this week in science. They tested different objects to see if the current could pass through and light up the light bulb!
