A message from me...
Good Afternoon!
We had a great start to the year celebrating the return of our staff and students. Having everyone back in the building brings energy and life that is missing over the summer!
Yesterday our Celtic Advisory Program (CAP) Mentors and Jerome staff clapped in our students. Today we started our music Fridays! Today we also had mentor training and a Freshman Assembly led by Ted Wiese, who has been coming to Jerome for a number of years. He works with our students to help them kick off the year in a positive and exciting manner!
The goal of all these activities is to bring energy and build the skills of our students and prepare them for success. We are so excited to work with all of our students this year and appreciate all of your support! Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns and we will be happy to help.
Have an amazing weekend!
Mike
DJHS Cheer Gives Back!
DJHS Cheer led by Senior Ella Bender collected school supplies for Caring For Kids, a foster to adopt support agency in central Ohio. The organization partners, typically, with local businesses to “fill the pool” with school supplies in order to provide backpacks with all the supplies kiddo’s need as they head back to school. It gives them something that is theirs, a sense of participation and not being the kid that can’t contribute or needs to borrow everything in a sometimes new environment.
This year the team requested 6 pools and gathered 1500 items to donate. To say the least, Caring for Kids is thrilled and looking forward to next year! They have a lot to be proud of! Thank you
PTO Annual Membership Drive
PTO is kicking off their annual membership drive and we need your support in being the Parent in our Parent Teacher Organization! We will be holding a raffle for the next 5 weeks with fun prizes including athletic passes, parking passes, tickets to Jerome drama productions, gift cards and even premium graduation seats! For every $25 you donate, you will be entered into the weekly drawings. The more you donate, the more you will be entered.
Donating is easy, you can support us through Zelle (djhstreas@gmail.com) or Paypal ( @DublinJeromePTO) or send a check into the attendance office made out to Dublin Jerome High School PTO.
With this being the 20th anniversary of Jerome, we have a lot of fun activities planned for the students and the teachers/staff. We appreciate your support!
Next Week
TUESDAY, AUGUST 20: JEROME PICTURE DAY
HR Imaging will be mailing a bar-coded prepay flyer to each of your students that contains all of the information they need for picture day. The envelope on the flyer actually serves as your personal pre-filled camera card. Students should bring the envelope portion of the flyer to our scheduled picture day. This allow for quick, efficient process.
You may also order online here or click the image.
NOTE: These photos are used for IDs and our Student Information System. Students are not permitted to alter the photo and we must be able to have this for identification purposes. Students that do not adhere to those expectations will not be permitted to take the photo at that time.
Wednesday, Aug. 20: DJHS Club Fair
The Jerome Student Council will be hosting our annual Club Fair throughout the day on Wednesday, August 20. During the club fair students can learn about the variety of clubs that we offer at Jerome.
We encourage all students to get involved by joining one or two clubs over their high school career. Being really involved in a couple of clubs is much better than dabbling in seven clubs!
Check out our ClubHub below for the variety of club opportunities for our students.
Wednesday, August 21: Working Wednesday
All Dublin High Schools and Emerald Campus have staff professional development called Working Wednesday. These Wednesdays provide important opportunities for our staff to collaborate and learn together.
- Classes do not begin until 8:20am
- Buses run at their normal time. Students are supervised in the common areas until 8:10 am.

Senior parents are invited to the Jerome Center for Performing Arts (CPA) to kick off the journey of Senior Year. The Jerome School Counselors will share timelines, processes and experiences four our rising seniors as they prepare for life after high school.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Parent Awareness: Social Media Parody Accounts
At the beginning of the school year, we see an increase in DJHS parody accounts (Jerome Barstool, Almost Friday Jerome). These are not sanctioned or run by DCS or Dublin Jerome. They are typically created by anonymous Jerome students and are difficult to pinpoint who is running them.
These accounts are emulate popular national social media accounts. We do our best to guide and reinforce appropriate content however, it is not always followed. If there is content that you feel is not appropriate, please contact me. I would also encourage that you report the content or the account.
Please have a conversation with your child about these accounts and the impact it can have on fellow classmates and the school community.
CCP and DCS Virtual Students
We have a number of students enrolled in a DCS Virtual Course or College Credit Plus. Students in these courses will have a scheduled Study Hall or with permission are scheduled OUT.
For safety and security purposes if they have OUT on their schedule they are expected to not be in the building. If students would like to remain in the building to complete course work they will need to be placed in a study hall.
Please contact your school counselor or assistant principal if you have any questions .
School Communication Guidelines
Building a positive and collaborative teacher-family relationship is extremely important to our students success. We do our best to resolve issues at the level that is closest to the situation. Next week I will provide contact levels for families when they have an issue or concern.
Here are some general guidelines as we begin the year:
- All student and parent emails will receive a response within 24 hours on a school day.
- Late evening emails should not expect a response. If a student is in need of classroom assistance, they may email the teacher and it can be addressed in the classroom the following day.
- Communications over the weekend will receive a response the following Monday.
During the school day we want our staff focused on engaging students in the classroom. Each of our teachers has work time in the morning and a plan period during the day to respond to parents. In many situations a phone call or face to face meeting is much for productive to resolve the issue. Our primary goal is to provide collaborate on a response to achieve a quality outcome.
Food Delivery Services
Students are not permitted to have food delivered to Jerome during the school day (7:15-2:42). This is a safety and security concern. If a student orders food they will not be permitted to pick up until the end of the day. Students have the ability to purchase a school lunch or bring their own lunches.
We do not encourage parents to order food to send to students. If you have specific questions regarding food delivery, feel free to contact me.
Personal Communication Device (PCD) Practices
In May, 2024, Ohio Governor DeWine signed House Bill 250, which included a requirement that school districts have policies in place for this school year that limit student cell phone use as much as possible during school hours and reduce cell phone-related distractions in classroom settings.
Over the summer all Dublin 9-12 buildings collaborated to develop a set of practices for students throughout their school day. Our team reviewed DCS Policy 5136 to develop our practices. The poster to the right included the practices and details for our students during the 2024-2025 School Year.
If you would like to learn more about the policy requirements in House Bill 250, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce created a webpage which can be accessed here. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Parking Passes
Seniors receive an email with specific details for parking passes that will include a link to register. Students may drive next week without a pass but will be required to purchase one during their designated window.
- Students are permitted to drive to school on the first days without a pass.
- Parking passes for the school year are $60. All spots are first come, first serve and student parking will be assigned in the Brand Road Lot first.
Dismissal Bus Numbers and Location

THINGS TO NOTE

Celebrations and Opportunities
Fall Spirit Themes
Throughout the Fall we have spirit days on Fridays. We will also have two spirit weeks to celebrate Homecoming and our 20th Anniversary. Here is the Fall Theme Schedule and Friday night recognitions.
We encourage all students to participate but we also invite all families to take part and wear the corresponding theme to the football game!
Sports Equipment Collection
The Sports Patronage Club is putting up a drop box! The drop box will be near the main entrance of the school building, in front of the main office, and will aim to collect all usable sports equipment. Anything collected will be donated to Leveling the Playing Field, a non-profit organization with the mission of providing adequate sports equipment to underprivileged athletes. Every piece of equipment goes a long way toward creating a society where everyone can experience the wonders of sports, not just people with the means for it.
