TweenTribune is a Smithsonian site that provides current event articles that come in different lexile levels.
It provides grade ranges along the top, as well as lexile ranges within the articles.
The visuals are great supports for ELLs and media literacy TEKS.
Spanish is an option.
Technology-related articles are also a category.
Rewordify is a site that simplifies difficult text. Students can copy and paste difficult texts into a box that will simplify it. This can help ELL students access complex content tasks at their comprehension level. If students have access to online textbooks, this can be helpful for higher-leveled texts. It also works with archaic language (think Shakespeare or the Gettysburg Address) and incorporates vocabulary into the "translation".

NowCommentis a site that "turns documents into conversations." It allows for embedded annotation (comments) as well as collaborative commenting on any uploaded document. Students can support each other using this like a virtual discussion centered around digital text.
ReadTheoryis a site that provides an adaptive reading experience based on diagnostics in the program. Teachers do not have to create anything. The lexiled diagnostics are provided and reports are easy to run after students work for 30 minutes in ReadTheory. Teachers do have to create student accounts within the site first, which can take some time depending on your class sizes.
ReadWorks is a site with passages and excerpts all grouped by lexile levels. The passages come with detailed lessons and resources for teaching the text. The bulk of the lessons are for K-6, but there are some passages and resources for higher grades, as well.

Wonderopolis is a place of wonder. Each informative text is a response to a wonder (a question.)
The articles are searchable and they are written for upper elementary and can be useful for content reading for language learners.
They have an audio function, so that the reader can read along with an audio version.
CommonLit is a free site that contains a collection of fiction and nonfiction that is grouped by reading levels. Teachers can search by big themes and assign texts for same theme on different reading levels.
After you create your free account, click on LIBRARY at the top and check out "BROWSE TEXT SETS" to see what types of texts are available.
In the search function, you can filter for lexile level.
Breaking News Englishis not a flashy site by any stretch of the imagination, but it provides articles that are available on different reading levels. Each passage has lessons tied to it with grammar activities using the text of the article.
NewsInLevels is another site that provides world news articles at three different reading levels.
This site is designed for learners of English and has SKYPE connection options for kids to practice oral language.
ESL students in the upper grades can use the 3 different levels and the exercises to track their language acquisition progress.
The site provides short text piece paired with video for important listening skills.
SAS Curriculum Pathwaysis a free site that has searchable resources by content and the resources have lexile and grade levels for easier searching.
Under "BROWSE RESOURCES" in top left, you can search for state standards. TEKS aligned lessons will then be searchable by simply clicking on the standard or SE.
TLN is The New York Times' site for educators. It has a specific section for ELL students to read and respond to articles.
