Learning Without Limits
Seaman High School Students Violet White and Maleia Doud and SHS Agriculture Teacher Madison Koenen presented the board with a flower arrangements prepared by the SHS Floriculture class. This course is designed to expand on greenhouse management concepts that are first introduced in Horticulture. This is a very hands-on course where a lot of time will be spent in the school greenhouse. Topics for this course include pest management, greenhouse safety, career opportunities, and greenhouse production, as well as principles of floral design.
Superintendent Remarks
Mr. Willson thanked the board and recognized their excellence for School Board Recognition Month. "They support our staff, care about our students, keep their focus on our organization, equitably represent our community, hold us accountable, and keep our taxes as low as feasible." The board will also be recognized publicly on February 11th at the home basketball game.
President Remarks
Michelle Caudill opened the floor for board comments. Braden Werner expressed his thanks to building and grounds and the transportation department for their work during the winter weather. He recognized Miss Denise at Mathes Early Learning Center for her work as a custodian and also her ability to create meaningful relationships with students. Michelle thanked facilities for their work, including clearing the Optimist parking lot. Dianna Brodine promoted the upcoming SHS Steel Drum ensemble Pep Band performance at this week's home basketball game. Christy Weiler shared about the upcoming trip she and Michelle will be taking to DC for the NSBA Equity and Advocacy Institute. They will update the board on their trip at the February board meeting.

2024-2025 Board Meeting Dates
Regular board meetings are scheduled on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 pm. Regular meetings may be adjourned to another time and place when necessary. Special meetings may also be scheduled on an as-needed basis.
Regular meetings typically take place at the Seaman Education Center. When meeting locations change, notice is sent out to the public and made available online. Board agendas go live on the Friday afternoon prior to the regular board meeting.
All regular meetings are streamed live and available on the district's YouTube Channel. A recap of the meeting is also made available through the Board Digest.
Both in-person and digital public comment are accepted at regular board meetings. The public comment agenda item may be found in the meeting agenda.
