Reflections from Pastor Jennifer
OCC
As we near the end of the month, be sure to bring a toy or two for the shoeboxes. If you plan to get an early start on April, we are bringing shower items. This could be bar soap, loofahs, or wash cloths. Your donations of shoeboxes and shipping costs are also a blessing.
March Focus
Finish strong this month by devoting yourself to prayer. This week, focus on giving thanks in advance for how the Lord is going to answer your prayers. We must come to Him in faith, believing that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. Be wearing your prayer shirts regularly as an opportunity to pray for those with whom you come in contact.

Created For Purpose
‘For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.’
(Ephesians 2:10 NLT)
If you have come to Jesus and received salvation, you are a new creation. The old has gone, the new has come.
And guess what? All of that newness has been pre-planned in the mind of our Heavenly Father long before you ever came to be in existence!
I like to imagine God in Heaven as a craftsman, thinking and dreaming up new creations (you and me!) every day. He makes lists and drawings of what each creation will look and be like crafting our personalities and features out of His vast imagination and creative ability.
This is obviously just my imagination and not necessarily how each of you and I came to be but imagine the thought that went into each and every day of our lives – and marvel at our Creator.
This same Creator planned for you to have a reason for being here – a purpose.
You may be in a season where you do not feel like you have much purpose, but trust me, God is always at work and up to something in our lives, whether the fruit is recognisable on the surface or not.
As an adult, part of your purpose and reason for being here on earth is to use your gifts and abilities to serve others in exchange for wages. We call this work but I believe it is so much more than punching a time card just so we can draw a wage.
I believe that the gifts and the abilities that God has given us are deliberate and involve great thought and care. I believe He chose you and I to be strategically placed on purpose in the places where we offer our skills and the blessing at the other end is that we can earn a living from these responsibilities and look after ourselves and our families.
All of this is a masterpiece.
The Bible tells us so!
Now, you may have had a couple or few places of work in your career so far. You may not feel as though you are using your skills very much where you are now. Either way, I believe that God uses every season of work in our lives to develop our character and to provide for us.
So, as we dive into more of what working as a Christian looks like, let’s remember; God is in control, He planned each of your days ahead of time and He knows what He is doing.
You can trust Him with your career and working life.
