Weekly Message from Mr. Costa
Dear Eagle Community,
Welcome to 2025! I hope that you have had a relaxing and joy-filled holiday season.
We are looking forward to welcoming all students back tomorrow - Tuesday, January 7 - to begin a wonderful second semester of the 2024-25 school year. School begins at 8:15AM and we are hopeful to start the year with excellent Eagle attendance rates! As always, thank you for partnering with us to ensure that attendance at Vivian Banks Charter School remains a top priority.
We are very pleased to welcome Ms. Diana Flores to the Vivian Banks Charter School family. Ms. Flores will be our long-term 5th grade substitute for the remainder of the school year, as Ms. Lehnerz is transitioning to her new role as our site Education Specialist. Welcome, Ms. Flores!
Our partnership with Tuchily Healing Hearts is in full swing. Over the coming weeks, what was previously a campus storage and server room (Room 17) will be beautifully transformed into the "Eagle's Nest." This comfortable and welcoming environment will provide a confidential space for students in-need to speak with licensed professional counselors. Dr. Eric Tippeconnic (Comanche), artist and CSU San Marcos professor, will be partnering with the community to create a beautiful mural inside this new space.
2025 will be a big year for other exciting campus initiatives such as Parent Club and development of the Pala Community Garden, and Indian Education Council and working with the Pala Seniors Program. New student clubs will be starting soon, and let's also get a conversation started about a sports league for our upper-primary (3rd-5th) students!
This Thursday 1/9 is a minimum early release day; school will end at 12:35PM for K and 12:45PM for grades 1-5.
Make sure to speak with Ms. Nancy in the front office to order your 2024-25 VBCS yearbooks!
