Message from the Principal
As Parent Teacher Conferences come to a close, I hope that you gained useful insight into your child’s academic and social-emotional progress. If you were unable to attend any of the offered timeslots, please reach out to your child’s teacher to see if there are other times available. If you have suggestions on how to make the conferences more meaningful to you please let us know in the Parent Feedback Survey Below.
Feedback Please remember to provide feedback below on how you are experiencing the Crest View Community. I just updated the results from September and answered some of the concerns parents have raised. We only had four comments from parents last month. There are a couple more days left in October, so please get your comments in so we can continue to improve.
Traffic Flow I have been working with the district to help improve the safety and efficiency of the traffic flow during pick-up and drop-off. A couple of reminders for Hug n Go:
When dropping off at the Hug n Go lane, stay on the blacktop (not the sidewalk).
Avoid using U-turns in front of the school (This includes pulling into a private driveway).
Do not leave your car parked in the Hug n Go lane for any reason.
Only use the westbound lane for Hug n Go. The eastbound lane is private property and kids walking across Sumac is dangerous.
Thank you for your support in making sure we have a safe campus.
Crest View Parent Feedback Survey (September Results) NEW!
Please read the results of last month's comments linked above. We will continue to use the Parent Feedback Survey to monitor our delivery of the Crest View Vision and Mission. We had 6 comments in August and 4 in September.

Biking Safety Reminders
Parents, please remind your students to bike safely! Bikers should stay on the sidewalks except when using the loop at the front of the school, watch for traffic, and never ride their bikes through the parking lot. We know the ongoing construction creates ever-changing challenges so if your typical route is disrupted we encourage you and your student to talk to a staff member to come up with a safe alternative.
Plastics Collection
You’re invited to bring plastic film (ziptop bags, grocery bags, bubble wrap, and lots more) to
school and Ridwell will make sure it stays out of landfills.
You can help the school earn free plastic film recycling if you sign up for or gift a household membership by December 15. Use this link to make sure your membership counts towards the Crest View effort.
Food Policy Reminder
BVSD’s Wellness Policy encourages families to choose non-food alternatives for classroom celebrations like birthdays and that any food brought to share adheres to the USDA Smart Snack Guidelines. Please review this informational flyer and the included links and discuss options with your child’s teacher before planning classroom celebrations.
Coat Collection
Our yearly coat collection begins tomorrow, Oct. 25, and runs through Dec. 3rd, 2024. Please bring coats that are in good condition to the main entrance. Art Cleaners will clean the coats before distributing them to community members in need.
