Hello MCP3 Families!

Ms. Perine and I enjoyed celebrating with the Elephants and Bulldogs for having the most family surveys completed. Our scholars sure did enjoy their special treat and fun music. Thank you again for your feedback.

Shout out to all the families and scholars for participating in our Black History Spirit Week.

The Positivi-Tee shirts and Black Excellence days have kicked off our week with spirit and pride. Be sure to check out some pictures below! This week we will be having a Black History Assembly for our scholars. This is an in-house assembly, not a program for families this year due to logistics with programming and space. However, we will be recording the classroom song/poem and sharing the video on Dojo for all families to enjoy. Thank you for your understanding.

Black History Weekly Trivia

Congratulations to Daniel's parents, Ms. Paige & Mr. Turnbull for being our 2nd week's Black History Trivia Winners! We hope you enjoy your prize basket! Let's see who this week's winners will be! We will be selecting TWO winners, since I missed last week's newsletter. Be sure to participate and complete this week's Black History Trivia- Making a change!

Here are some important reminders and updates:

• No Aftercare on Thursday, 3/20/2025-This is the start to our annual veteran staff retreat and we will not have aftercare on this Thursday. All scholars will need to be picked up by 3:30pm. Please plan accordingly.

• Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser WINNERS!!! - MCP3 raised the most $ during our Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser. Thank you for your contributions and for promoting our fundraiser! We raised $1,959!! Scholars and staff will receive a special treat next week.

• DSHA Vocare Volunteers- MCP3 partners every year with DSHA (Divine Savior holy Angels) High School and welcomes students for their immersive two-week service program called Vocare. Latin for to draw forth, to call, Vocare is an opportunity for DSHA students to use their gifts and talents in service to who God has called them to be in the world – women of integrity and faith, who strive to be the goodness and kindness of Jesus wherever they are. This program sends every DSHA senior into the greater Milwaukee community to give of herself to others. It is the capstone to four years of service and helps DSHA students to integrate for themselves the depth of what it means to be Dashers – women of faith, critical thinkers, effective communicators and servant leaders. Vocare will take place February 24 through March 7, 2025 and volunteers will be introduced to families on Dojo.

• Interested in getting a Free Kids Meal from Texas Roadhouse? Stop by the main office for your coupon to receive a Free Kids Meal with purchase of an entree! The coupon will be good until 9/02/2025 for the Waukesha location. Each coupon has a barcode on the back to scan when you present at the Texas Roadhouse.

• Enrollment for K4- NOW OPEN! Complete applications online via your Skyward Family Access. You will be able to select the campus you would like your scholar to attend for K4. Log into Skyward and then select New Student Online Enrollment on the left. This is for scholars who will be 4 years old on or before September 1st, 2025. If you need support accessing your Skyward, please reach out to Ms. Perine at our front desk or by calling 414-264-6007. The first two classrooms to have 100% of their scholars enrolled for the 2025-2026 school year will earn a pizza party!!

• Scholars must be 4 on or before 9/1/25 to enroll for K4.

• Scholars that will not turn 4 by 9/1/25 would need to enroll for another year in K3.

• If you plan to enroll your scholar in a different school, please let your child's teacher or Ms. Perine know.

  CALLING ALL COLLEGE-BOUND ALUMNI!

  • Created for alumni of MCP, the Sadoff “DOE” College Scholarship was created for scholars in their pursuit of post-secondary education at a college, university, or trade school
  • Individuals who meet the criteria and possess proven leadership skills are encouraged to apply by Friday, May 23rd for the 2025-26 school year
  • Scholarships will be awarded to MCP alumni in college during the 2025-26 school year

  MILWAUKEE CHOICE APPLICATION OPENS ON 2/3, 8AM

  8th Grade Families,
  Many of our scholars have been accepted to private schools with tuition. Therefore, it is important that you are paying attention to deadlines for scholarships and the Milwaukee Choice Application. These deadlines are very serious. There is nothing MCP or the school will be able to do if you miss these deadlines. In connection to deadlines the Choice application opens February 3, 2025 at 8am.   2025 OVERNIGHT SUMMER CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS
  We recognize your child’s learning and character development extends beyond school hours. That’s why we have partnered with two summer camps, YMCA Camp Minikani and Camp for All Kids, to give MCP scholars the opportunity to experience unique personal development through 1-week, 2-week, and 4-week overnight camp this summer.

  • SPOTS ARE LIMITED for both overnight camp experiences. We encourage families to apply early to secure a scholarship!
  VOLUNTEERING AT MCP
  
  • We love to have parent volunteers help out in the school! If you have time free during the school day and would like to help us with tutoring, copying, cutting, laminating, or any of the other tasks that it takes to make a school run smoothly. To volunteer, we ask that you follow the following process:

  • All parents must fill out a volunteer form if they would like to help in their class or another room
  • If you are interested in volunteering to chaperone an upcoming field trip, please contact your child’s teacher
  • Alumni who would like to volunteer should seek pre-approval from that campus’ Principal at least 48 hours in advance
