Director's Corner

Dear DCA family,


This school year is flying by. It is already the 14th week of school! ALREADY!!!


Our Scholars are working hard. I observed in multiple classrooms the exceptional effort, great attitudes, and pride our Scholars have daily. I had the opportunity to listen to recitations, have guided discussions with classes on their literature, and have hands-on experience with some of the math curriculum. Our Scholars are exceptional and I have enjoyed the opportunities to sit with them in class the last few weeks.


Keep an eye on the Knightly News. We have multiple events coming up in the next few weeks. This week we have our Thanksgiving feast. This will happen during lunch. There is a slightly different lunch schedule. Please ensure you look at that schedule so you do not miss your Scholar’s lunch.


Friday, November 17th, is a half day. We are staggering the release times for this Carline. Kindergarten and 1st grade Carline starts at 11:50. 2nd grade - 5th grade Carline starts at 12:00. Families will Scholars in both Carline times should pick up during the 12:00 pick up time. Please help us keep Carline running smoothly.

Choose an Item From the Angel Tree

We are so honored to have so many giving families at our school who are willing to help out those who need a hand up. Beginning on Monday, we will have angel tags on our Angel Tree. We are hoping that each Angel will receive a Want, a Need, a Wear and a Read item. There are still many to choose from. Please click on the link below to sign up for one or more items for our families that need a little extra help this holiday season. The tags are labeled by Alphabet along with a number (1-4); so one set of four letters goes to one angel if you would like to buy everything for one angel. Have fun blessing an angel!

OPEN APPLICATIONS FOR 2024-25 FOR NEW STUDENTS

The NEW student application for the 2024-2025 school year will open November 1 at 8 am. No action is needed at this time for currently enrolled students. The new student application is for those students who are not currently enrolled at our school (or any RES school) and would like to attend in the 2024-25 school year. Current families are being notified in case you fill into any of the folloowing categories:


* You have a child starting school for the first time next year (i.e., entering Kindergarten)

* A child in youir family currently attends a school in another district and you want them to attend our school next year.

* Someone you know has expressed interest in our school and you'd like to share the application link.


ON NOVEMBER 1, you may find the 2024-2025 application for enrollment at http://responsiveed.schoolmint.com/signup. If the number of applicants exceeds the the number of available spaces for students in a particular grade, a lottery will take place in February. Therefore, we recommend the completion of the new student application between November 1st and February 2nd.

And for our CURRENT Students....

* Re-Enrollment for 2024-2025 will take place January 8 - January 26.

* Transfer Window for 2024-2025 will also be January 8 - January 26.

* Lottery Date: TBD

Extended Day Program

We still have a few openings in the DCA Extended Day program. Does your student need help from experienced teachers with their homework? Need a way to get energy out playing with other students? Enjoy crafts, games, etc. We have a place for you! for $230 a month, $200/student for 2 children, $175/student for 3 children. Contact Mrs. Mason for more information.,
