I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. As you know, the SHARKS of CES love a good celebration and our SHARKS were thrilled to recognize not one, but two special days this weekend - Star Wars Day (May the 4th) and Cinco de Mayo. There's nothing better than a weekend of celebrations after a week of hard work!!
Speaking of celebrations, all are cordially invited to CES on Friday for our 3rd Annual CES Arts Festival. The CES Arts Festival on Friday, May 10th is a celebration of student work in the visual and musical arts. Please join us for an afternoon full of musical performances from all grade levels and displays of student art work throughout our building. The doors open at 12:15 pm and the event kicks off at 12:30 pm. Students can be dismissed with their families at the conclusion of the event or follow their normal dismissal routine. We ask that you update Pickup Patrol with any changes to your student's normal dismissal routine.
In just a few weeks time, we will be bringing back another CES tradition - the CES Fun Run. This school-wide activity celebrates fitness, community, and helps raise funds for our amazing PTO. Please see below for more information regarding the Fun Run and how you can volunteer time and or funds to make this event a success!
Finally, I hope you will join me in celebrating the amazing staff of Chatham Elementary School this week! May 6th - May 10th is Teacher Appreciation Week. Every member of our CES Staff is responsible for teaching our students, so we take this week to celebrate all members of our school staff. Every day I am amazed by the care and dedication of this amazing staff who go above and beyond to challenge, support, and love our students. Please join me in thanking them for their incredible work!

What is the CES Fun Run?
The CES Fun Run will take place on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2023. This school-wide event will celebrate fitness and community with our students, staff, families, and community members. The event begins with opening ceremonies at 11:30 am followed by two races for our students. There will be music, food, and a carnival-like atmosphere. The event proceeds will help fund our PTO-sponsored activities and extracurricular activities for the 2024-2025 school year.
The Fun Run is held at Chatham's Veterans Field on the Little League Field next to the large playground. Veterans Field is directly across the street from Chatham Elementary School.

Event Volunteers are Needed!
We are looking for volunteers to help with a number of race-related tasks. Do you have a little or a lot of time to lend a hand? We would love your assistance!
If you have time to assist with planning - specifically reaching out to local businesses for donations for food donations, please contact Deb Gebhardt dgebhardt@monomoy.edu in the Main Office. We truly appreciate your help!!

THANK YOU to our 3rd and 4th Grade Families for fantastic attendance during MCAS Testing!! During MCAS season we administered 236 sessions and had only one absence! Thank you for making attendance a priority on these important testing dates!!!
Thank you to Mr. Michael MacMillan, Ms. Mackenzie Yarletts, and Mr. Patrick McGovern for coordinating and assisting the installation of our new security cameras throughout Chatham Elementary School. These beautiful, high-definition cameras allow us to monitor more of our school and ensure safety! And thank you to Ms. Caswell and Ms. Deb for putting up with the disruptions to the Main Office while the monitors were installed!
Thank you to Ms. Claudia Berbeo and the MRHS Spanish Club for visiting our Grade 3 and 4 students on Friday. We loved learning about this special club and singing with you! Muchas gracias!!

Mobile Crisis
MCI provides short-term service that is a therapeutic response to youth and family/caregivers experiencing a behavioral health crisis. MCI evaluates the situation, identifies the challenges, involved, assesses the needs, and begins to treat and stabilize the situation, reducing the immediate risk of danger to the youth or to others.
