Dear Parents/Carers,
Monday saw some of our Year 3 children travel to Sherburn High School for a MAT football tournament. We played really well and finished third out of all of the STAR schools.
On Wednesday, Year 5 paid a visit to Castle Museum in York. They had a great day and were superb examples of Kirk Fenton school with fantastic behaviour throughout.
Yesterday was the Worship Leaders conference at Monk Fryston Primary School. Six of our Year 5 children were selected to discuss what they liked and didn’t like about worship in school. They were incredibly mature and were able to work with other Church schools to suggest ingredients for a successful and fulfilling worship. I was incredibly proud of the way they conducted themselves and we had a great afternoon.
This week we have found out that Mr Priory has been successful at job interview and will be relocating back to his home town at the end of the school year. He will be a great loss to Kirk Fenton but we have enough time to ensure he has a good send off! We will share updates on staffing as we have them.
Unfortunately this week, there have been a couple of incidences where parents have spoken to staff in a disrespectful manner. Please remember that even if you disagree with something, they are working really hard to do the best for all children in school and there are ways to go about sharing your concerns. By the same token, I would like to thank the parents who have had concerns but have approached them, and us, in an appropriate way.
Thank you to everyone who has attended parents evening. It has been lovely to see you all in school and we look forward to repeating the experience next Tuesday.
Thanks as always for your continued support as we head into the final week of term!
Have a great weekend,
Mel Walmsley
