SPS All-Stars: Their Time to Shine
What do Stacey D'Aberle, Corey Sampson, Carnell Sheppard, Hakeem Trotter and Tracie Twitchell all have in common? They are the first SPS All-Star Award winners! This month, we are honoring our Super Support Staff - those who may not be in a classroom but still help build a positive culture in our schools.
Nominate a Beacon of Hope
The SPS All-Star Awards aim to highlight current staff who are positively impacting their school community. Nominations are now open for staff members who are helping to create a sense of belonging for their school community. Nominate a Beacon of Hope from your school by Dec. 6!

Winter Break Begins Dec. 23
Stay merry and bright! All schools will be closed for Winter Break from Dec. 23 to Jan. 3, 2025. School will be dismissed one hour early on Friday, Dec. 20. Classes resume on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025. Happy holidays!

Enrollment for 2025-26 Opens in January
New registration for the 2025-26 school year begins Jan. 6, 2025. Families will be able to enroll their students online or in person at the John Stanford Center. Explore your possibilities in Seattle Public Schools!

Mark Your Calendars for the Black College Expo
Seattle Public Schools is hosting a Black College Expo at Rainier Beach High School on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Seniors, juniors, and college transfer students can meet one-on-one with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), other colleges, universities and educational programs. The expo is open to students of ALL ages. Everyone is welcome!
Register for the 2025 Family Connectors University
All SPS families are invited to join Family Connectors University, a family-focused online course to help parents and caregivers support their child’s learning and growth.
Scholarships for College
The Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship is now open until Dec. 19! If you want to learn more, consider attending information night at the University of Washington Ethnic Cultural Center on Thursday, Dec. 13, from 5 to 8 p.m.
The Seattle Promise Scholarship is now open. All seniors in the Class of 2025 are eligible to apply. Applications are due Feb. 14, 2025.
11th and 12th grade students and families can explore national, local, and college-based scholarship opportunities on Naviance and WashBoard.
FAFSA and WASFA Applications Now Open
Applications for federal and Washington state financial aid are now open. Don't delay in applying. It's best practice to submit applications as early as possible.
