Transition to Success with CCS
Columbus City Schools Transition Department
Columbus City Schools Transition Opportunities Fair
We welcomed approximately 700 families at our December 2023 Transition Fair! This was a tremendous success and we look forward to building upon those relationships with many more families as we plan for our next event!
Our next Columbus City Schools Transition Opportunities Fair will target all grade levels from Pre-K through grade 12 and beyond! This event will be held at East High School, 1500 E Broad St, Columbus, OH 43205 on Saturday September 14, 2024 from 10:00AM - 1:00PM. We will have many community partners that can assist with the services, skill building, and knowledge to assist in making the choices and to help each student in reaching his or her postsecondary goals. We will have organizations to spotlight all the different opportunities for programs, education, employment, independent living, community services, social and recreational services, and adult day programming.
Please contact your school Transition Coordinator with any questions regarding transition services. Our Transition Coordinators are assigned to each high school; if your student is not yet in high school, please reach out to the coordinator of the high school that is located within your region.
This is not an endorsement of any particular agency or service, but an opportunity for all CCS students and families to be able to learn more of what is available within our community. Please use this opportunity to ask questions and to interact directly with the participating programs and to have any potential questions answered directly from our participants.

Ms. Lynn Esprit - Transition Coordinator at Northland High School
Ms. Esprit does an amazing job at connecting her students to their community and preparing them for life after high school! Ms. Esprit is careful to individualize the experiences for each of her Northland students. Some of the experiences that students have been able to obtain include volunteering at the Franklin County Dog Shelter, COTA training from Northland HS to Easton, participation in the CCS Transition Fair, participation with the Columbus State CC Human Services Program, Driving Capabilities, visits to the Courthouse, visits to the Sister Slay Empowerment, and participation in the Columbus Special Olympics Polar Plunge!
Ms. Esprit also does an amazing job referring students to Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) for Summer Youth Work Experience opportunities. If you are interested in participating in a Summer Youth Work Experience, now is the time to sign up for those opportunities, please see your building Transition Coordinator.
