While juniors take the PSAT on Wednesday, 10/9, our freshmen, sophomores, and seniors will have the opportunity to engage in learning activities that are tailored to them. More information about these schedules will be shared next week.

• 9th grade will follow an altered schedule and attend their team classes
• 10th grade will attend their humanities class and participate in Advisory-centered activities
• 12th grade will participate in their annual class hike
  

Honors Challenge enrollment has officially started! Teachers have shared information about course-specific Honors Challenges over the last few weeks. We recommend that students and parents review this information together to make an informed decision about which Honors Challenges would be best for this school year. Both students and parents must formally enroll via PowerSchool. Please review last week’s letter, also linked here, for information about our Honors Challenge and how to enroll. Enrollment will be available until 10/11.

This week we hosted our annual club day! During advisory, over 20 clubs were able to show students what their club entails. It was an awesome event that showed why Souhegan High School is such a special place to learn!

What do you love about your job?

I love the collaborative culture that exists amongst staff and students at Souhegan. I also love working with students and learning the newest lingo.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I like to spend time with my kids and wife, play guitar, and watch and play soccer.

If you were given one wish what would it be?

It would be nice if mosquitos didn't bother us so we could be outside at night in the summer.

Do you have a favorite quote or mantra?

I mainly use this mantra to help students learn new math skills, but I find it useful in everyday life: "Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast"

This week on council we had our Community Council retreat, where students learned about the history of council, did icebreaker activities, learned how a meeting runs, and discussed a practice proposal. We also held our first class forums on the Appeal of the Rank by Request Proposal. Our next meeting will be Monday, 9/30 at 3:00 in the Info Center where we will vote on our final members for executive council.

Attention Souhegan parents! Join the Amherst PTSA for Safety Night on Tuesday, October 8 at the Amherst Middle School.

Hello, Sabers! Picture day for our teams is October 3. Attached is the unique order code and is exclusively for preorders. This code will expire at midnight on picture day which is also indicated on the notice. Families who miss the pre order deadline will have another opportunity to order when they receive their student’s proof photo, approximately 4-5 weeks after picture day. Pictures will be taken outside the Main Entrance, by the bus loop, in the stone amphitheater.
