As we approach the end of the year, we’re excited to share some of the wonderful achievements and events that have taken place throughout our school community this semester. From festive celebrations to academic milestones, we are looking forward to a month filled with growth, connection, and school spirit. In this newsletter, you’ll find highlights from our classrooms, upcoming events, and important updates as we head into the winter break. We are grateful for the continued support of our students, families, and staff, and we look forward to an even brighter 2025!

I am thrilled to share that Oakland-Craig Public Schools has received a 2023-2024 AQuESTT Classification of EXCELLENT. Each year the Nebraska Department of Education scores districts based on the below AQuESTT tenets:

1. Positive Partnerships, Relationships, and Success
2. Transitions
3. Educational Opportunities and Access
4. College, Career, and Civic Ready
5. Assessment
6. Educator Effectiveness

Each district receives a classification of Excellent, Great, Good, or Needs Support after analyzing data in the following areas:

1. Reducing chronic absenteeism
2. Progress towards English Language proficiency
3. Graduation Rate
4. Student Discipline
5. Student Achievement and Growth

Our data at Oakland-Craig Public Schools has earned us a classification of EXCELLENT!

In addition to being scored as a district, we are also scored at the building level. These classifications are included below. I am incredibly proud of all of our students and staff for their hard work and dedication to the education of our youth. We thank the parents and community for their continued support.

The elementary school opens at 7:45 a.m. each morning. Please do not drop children off until 7:45 a.m. or after. The doors will not be open as there is no supervision for kids until 7:45 a.m. With it getting colder, it will be even more important that kids do not arrive before 7:45 a.m. We ask that you adhere to this so that issues don't arise during unsupervised times.

December 16 - Board of Education Meeting (8:00 p.m.)

December 20 - End of 1st Semester

December 21-January 6 - No School, Winter Break
