Dear Monomoy Middle School Families,
As you have read, Monomoy Regional School District is excited to offer a Cyber Safety Summit to support caregivers as they work with their children around the responsibilities of digital citizenship specifically in accessing and participating in social media. As many of us did not grow up with social media the way that children are now, it can be surprising when you begin to understand the significance of the content that students create and are exposed to. In my time working in middle schools as a teacher and administrator, I have seen a shift in the impact that participation in online activity can have on our students and continue to be concerned about our students using this in ways that are healthy for themselves and their peers. I encourage families and caregivers to attend this event so that we as the adults can continue to be informed in our efforts to keep students happy and safe while accessing and participating in online content.
In partnership,
Abby Dudley
Principal
