I hope your week was productive - mine sure was! We squeezed a lot into these past four days... We had an interesting occurrence this week that I want to mention to give some kudos to the faculty and staff here at Memorial. Yesterday, we had a substitute have a medical situation arise while on campus. Now, medical situations arise often when your school is larger than many small towns in Oklahoma. What really struck me about this situation was how our faculty reacted during the event. We had multiple teachers jump into action to assist the substitute. Additionally, the communication between the school and first responders was quick and efficient as I used an app we have on our phones that - once activated - calls first responder, notifies EPS district, and notifies the rest of the admin team in the building. Additionally, we had many teachers who took control of the hallways outside the classroom (which was empty by the way) where the event was taking place. It was incredible to see how smooth of a process this was and the substitute was able to get the medical support they needed in a timely fashion. Why do I tell you this? You trust us with your most prized possessions every single day. When trouble arises and supports are needed, Edmond Memorial High School is REALLY good at taking care of your kids and each other. Yet another reason why this is such a special place to be a part of!
