Armadillo Tattletale
Kinder, 1st & 2nd: Read the Book "Armadillo Tattle Tale" and discussed the differences between tattling and telling. Here are some of the activities completed.
Use the pictures below to help your student retell the story.
In the beginning, the armadillo had really big ears.
He used his ears to tell others things that made them feel upset.
Ask your student how the armadillo lost his big ears. (Hint: Alligator)
Here is a slideshow we watched about Tattling vs Telling:
Tattling vs Telling Large
Armadillo Tattletale
Students created their own armadillo & wrote an example of either tattling vs telling. The are in the hallway if you want to come take a look!
Active Listening
Fourth Grade is preparing to present their Active Listening Chart to other grade levels. When Fifth grade is done with their poster on Conversation they will present to one another.
Lego Club- 5th
Lego Club made great progress on their model this week, but not as much progress as last week as they got distracted. In the debrief, students discussed issues that slowed down progress. They decided everyone talking at once and not giving the correct information left the builders confused, making everyone feel frustrated. There were a lot of conflicting ideas that created confusion as well. The rules of the club that are there to facilitate the roles (Engineer, Builder & Part Supplier) were not followed. The area most improved was the Engineers became better facilitators to the Part Suppliers. Each student has had the opportunity to participate in each role. Looking forward to the discussion regarding their favorite roles next week.
