Message from the Health Office:
Dear Parents,
We would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the district practices that are in place to maximize the health of our students and staff.
1. If your child is running a fever of one hundred (100) degrees or greater (or 37.8 degrees Celsius or higher), please keep your child at home until the temperature has been less than one hundred (100) degrees (37.8 C) for twenty-four (24) hours, without the use of fever-reducing medications.
2. If your child is experiencing vomiting or diarrhea, please keep your child at home until these concerns have been resolved for twenty-four (24) hours, and your child is tolerating food.
3. If your child has been prescribed medication for an illness, please keep your child home until it has been over 24 hours since the medication has been started.
4. Colds and respiratory viruses are common during the school year. If your child is coughing continuously or has green-colored nasal secretions, you may wish to consult with your medical provider and follow his/her directions.
5. If your child is diagnosed with a contagious illness such as Covid 19, strep throat, measles, chicken pox, or pertussis, please notify the school as soon as possible.
6. As a reminder, frequent hand washing with soap and water is the primary way to prevent the spread of illness.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us to promote a healthy, happy school environment!
10 Days of the Spirit of Giving
Another week to celebrate the upcoming winter vacation with spirit days and the spirit of giving! Let’s raise the spirits of those less fortunate than ourselves. The Grace Giving Joy Food Pantry has given a list of items that they need. Please consider donating one or more of these items. You can bring them in on ANY day, not just the day it is posted on. Donations can be brought to the bins in the LMC. If Scullen Middle School can donate a minimum of 600 items, then we will have a celebration on Friday, December 20 decided by the teams. Let’s rise to the challenge!
Each day of giving will be paired with a Spirit Day theme. The calendar is posted below! Show your excitement for the upcoming break by participating and giving!

Sports Updates!
Basketball:
On Monday, the Shark Tank packed the house with great energy as the 8AA Sharks hosted the Washington Wildcats. It was a wild game from the start. Both teams were neck in neck as the Shark Attack got the lead for the boys at halftime with a clutch last second shot by Aayan. The pace of the game was controlled by none other than the captain TJ as he navigated through the Wildcat press with poetic ease. Justin H. brought the defense to another level as he picked apart the Wildcat offense. It came down to the wire as the boys were within striking distance, but they ultimately came up short 49-51 in a heartbreaking loss. The boys are back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Eagle territory to go against Kennedy.
The 8A team hosted the Madison Warhawks in a battle to the end! After quarter one, the game was tied, 6-6. A cold second quarter by the Sharks ended with a half time score of 6-12. Big defensive plays by each player allowed the Sharks to outscore the Warhawks in the second half 15-13. The Sharks played their best opponent of the year and pushed the undefeated Warhawks to their limits coming up short in the final seconds 21-25. The Sharks were led by Aryan J. and Devin S. with 9 and 6 points, respectively.
The 7A team beat Washington, 36-21. Sahl T. led the team with 11 points, Bodhin P. (10), Lucas L. (7), and Savir S. (5) also scored for the Sharks.
The 7AA team also won, beating Washington 31-29. Noah S. led the team with 13 points; Mika J. added 10. Jackson N., Aahil A. and Jacian M.. also scored for the team.
On Wednesday, the finale to the season, the Crone Panthers came to the Shark Tank to square off against your 8AA boys. The boys were determined to secure the second seed for the tournament and they jumped out to a commanding 13-2 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. The balanced attack from the swarm allowed the team to secure their final victory as they improved their record to 10-1 for the season. Strong drives by Jaedyn and Noah at the end helped secure the victory. The dynamic duo of TJ and Justin propelled the Sharks on the offensive end. Stay tuned for the tournament schedule this week as your boys go for the championship this year!
The 6 and 3, 8A Sharks traveled to Kennedy Jr. High to take on the Eagles. Your Sharks found themselves in another nail-biter in the final seconds of the game. Down four points with less than a minute to go, Finn H. drove to the basket, made the shot and drew a foul closing the gap to 24-26. However, Kennedy would keep the lead and the Sharks would change their record to 6-4. Aryan J. led the Sharks with 15 points along with Finn H., Abraham D., and Kabir B. scoring points for the Sharks. Our final game is home against the Crone Panthers. The Sharks are looking to end the regular season on a high note moving into the post season tournament.
The 7A team beat Crone, 28-24. Sahl T. led the team with 10 points. Lucas L. added 7 while Savir S. added 6 for the Sharks. Aarush J. & Vihaan J. also scored.
The 7AA team ended the regular season with a loss to Crone. Mika J., Myles H., Noah S., Ethan S., and Jacian M. scored for the Sharks.
