PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE SIGN UP
Parent and Teacher Conferences are just around the corner.
- November 7 ~ 3:00-7:00 PM
- November 14 ~ 3:00-7:00 PM
Please click on this link 2024-25 PHS Staff List for Parent-Teacher Conferences - Semester 1 to sign up for conferences. Make sure to note your student's full name, as well as if you are going to attend in person or virtually, so we can add a google meet to the invite.
NHS students will be walking in the hallways to assist with any questions you might have, like a teacher's room location. Also, the PHS office will be open if you would like to pay any fees or have any questions. We hope to see many of you!
CLARIFICATION ON QUARTERS
The 1st Quarter ends Friday, November 1st.
NOTE: Please remember there is no longer a Quarterly report card or honor roll.
The rationale for this change (also previously communicated out):
- The way grading was done in the past was each quarter was given a percentage. For simplicity sake, let's say 50%. At the end of the semester, the quarter 1 and quarter 2 grades were averaged to lead to the semester grade.
- While breaking grades down, we came to the conclusion that it was not best practice to do that because there may have been more tests/quizzes/projects in one quarter or the other, which didn’t lead to an accurate grade. Last school year we made the shift to be one, semester-long grade, rather than averaging quarter grades. Skyward has been adjusted since the change last year to reflect this update.
- With the grading shift, we will still have an Honor Roll for Semester 1 and Semester 2, which is also the Grade Point Average that goes on students' official transcript.
2024 HOMECOMING
Homecoming 2024 was a success! There were a lot of fun memories created throughout the week, both at PHS and in the community.
One idea that was mentioned (other schools do this) is to have the dance on Friday night, right after the football game.
A few specific things that were mentioned:
~ Students don't feel obligated to get dressed up; they wear their Panther gear from the game.
~ There is usually still no dinner component to the dance, same as a traditional Saturday dance.
~ Less teens driving.
~ Frees up a day for studying. OK, that one comes from the principal. 🙃😄
There are many pros and cons to this so I thought it was worth getting YOUR input.
Please fill out the following Google form survey, answering if you would be in favor of moving the dance to Friday night or not.
CELL PHONE USAGE
Since my last update on Cell Phone usage, I am happy to report that usage during class time has declined since last year.
It is important to talk to your children about how often they are using their phones, and for what purpose. There are many You tube Videos out there that can show you how to access the usage history of phones.
Please talk to your child about their usage, and check their daily/weekly usage time to help them visualize how much time is spent on their phones.
BLOOD DRIVE
Students, parents, & grandparents are invited to participate in the next PHS Blood Drive, set for 8:15am-12:45pm Wednesday Nov. 6 in the school gym. Schedule an appointment online, then bring an ID and enter Door 1G.
SENIOR PARENTS ~ CLASS OF 2025
As the calendar flips to November, it is important as parents to continue to stay involved in your child's school journey that started 4K in the Fall of 2011.
A few things to note (see list of important dates for graduates below):
- Senior pictures are due by November 15. Email a high-resolution jpg to quitquioc@gc.plymouth.k12.wi.us . The staff will let you know they received the photo.
- Senior ads can be purchased until January 31, 2025. We can build one for you or you can build one with the link in this document.
- If you have not bought a book yet for your child, you can buy one in the high school office by March 1, 2025, or online at Jostens.com.
- Please be sure to check the Fee Management Tab in Skyward and start paying any school fees that are still owed and due prior to graduation.
Please click on this link for PHS Seniors-End of Year Dates 2024-25 and add the events to your family calendars.
PANTHER COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
Starting with the graduating class of 2026 (current Juniors), a graduation requirement of 25 documented hours for community service was added:
- PHS has created a database of volunteer opportunities in the community for students to easily complete their 25 hours.
- After they have completed their hours, students submit a signed form to the high school office. This Volunteer Form link is also located at the bottom of the database link above.
- Once we have 25 documented service hours, students receive a completion mark in Skyward to indicate they met their service requirement for graduation.
- If you are an organization or individual in need of student assistance, please contact Laura Koebel at lkoebel@plymouth.k12.wi.us to see about being added to the service database.
Parents with children that are 9th-11th graders, please be sure to check the status of your child's service hours to make sure they are completing their necessary GRADUATION REQUIREMENT. Please encourage them to volunteer and take care of this sooner than later so it all doesn't get crammed into an already busy end of their senior year. The hope is that they can then enjoy their last year of high school even more!

PARKING / PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF ZONES
- School starts everyday at 7:35 AM and ends at 2:40 PM.

- Here is a map, with blue arrows, showing where parents can pick-up and drop-off students.
- Please pull in all the way around, like the blue arrows on the above map show.
