Message from the Superintendent
I wanted to keep my message short this month in an attempt to reduce confusion with the different work going on around CSD. I wanted to share my top 3 topics from the month, though.
1) As the weather turns, I want to emphasize how proud I am of our students and staff. The late winter stretch can become a grind at times. In every visit to buildings, I see something going on that I love!
2) I am appreciative of connecting with individuals and groups through our Operational Referendum sessions and Legacy Priority work. I have valued getting to know many of our community members better!
3) Please use our website to stay informed on the upcoming Operational Referendum and Legacy Priority work. There are website links in this newsletter for both. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
We are aiming to have a great couple of weeks before break. We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable break!
Go Cards!

2025 Operational Referendum
On Monday, January 13th, 2025, the Columbus School District School Board unanimously approved a resolution to include an Operational Referendum question on the upcoming April 1, 2025 ballot. The referendum question is a four (4) year non-recurring referendum for $1,750,000 beginning with the 2025-26 school year and ending with the 2028-29 school year.
CSD staff has been providing different engagement opportunities. The goal is to provide every voter the opportunity to be informed. Over the past month, CSD has participated in over 20 engagement sessions. We are planning to participate in about 15 more opportunities this month.

2024-2025 Inclement Weather/School Cancellations
For your safety and that of your children, this message is to inform you of how you will be notified of weather-related school closings. All parents who have updated information with the district on file should receive an email, text message, or phone call from the school informing them of a school closing. Your communication method that you receive will be based on what you selected as a preference for Infinite Campus. The most common types of weather-related school closings are: full-day school closing, 2-hour delay, or early dismissal. Early childhood and 4K typically follow the same closing schedule. In the event of a 2-hour delay, there usually is no school for early childhood or AM 4K, either. On days with a 2-hour delay, typically afternoon 4K students will have school. There could be an occasion where PM 4K is canceled in anticipation of a possible early release.
If you have recently changed your phone number or email address, please check with the office at your child's school to see if we have your most up to date contact information on file. Let's have a safe and warm winter together!
