Welcome Back!
We Are On a Mission!
Shark River Hills Elementary School is dedicated to ensuring that students develop a love for learning that enhances their academic experience and plants the seeds of independence, courage, and respect.
Our success in this mission will build lifelong, confident learners, who have the tools necessary for success in a changing world.
New Family Members
We have new staff members who have joined our Shark family. We welcome Mr. Demko, music and band teacher, and Mr. Toohey, STEM teacher. Welcome to our Shark family.
Security Procedures
We continue to keep our schools safe. Visitor procedures are listed below.
· When visiting the school, please remember to bring proper photo identification.
· When you enter the building, do not hold the door for others behind you. They, too, will be asked to state the purpose of their visit.
· Once inside, report to the main office and provide the secretary with your identification and obtain a visitor’s pass if you have been authorized to enter the hallway.
· If you must bring a forgotten item to school, please drop it off in the main office.
· If you need to pick up your child earlier than the scheduled dismissal time, you must notify the office in writing prior to dismissal. In an emergency, call the office to notify the school. Remember to bring proper identification.
Reminder:
· Please return the emergency contact information form as soon as possible.
· Please contact Mrs. Murphy (school nurse) with medical concerns at 732-776-2200 ext. 5003.
September is Attendance Awareness Month
Attendance is essential to school success. Absences, excused and unexcused, can add up to academic trouble. Chronic absence is missing 10 percent of the school year, or just 2-3 days every month—can translate into students unable to master reading. Opportunities to learn, are especially harmed when students miss too much instruction. Let’s do what we can to turn around chronic absence in our schools and help kids be in school every day!
