Moving on to UIL Area Marching Contest!
Congratulations on an outstanding performance at our UIL Region Marching Contest last Saturday! We received a division 1 rating from all of our judges and have qualified to perform at the UIL Area J Marching Contest at McKinney Stadium on Saturday, November 2nd.
We do not have an itinerary set, but expect the following approximate (and required) schedule for Saturday, November 2nd:
- 9am call time at rehearsal
- 1:45pm projected prelims performance at McKinney Stadium
- Lunch and dinner provided
- Perform and/or watch entire finals competition
- Return to AHS between 10-11pm
Some of the finest bands in Texas AND THE COUNTRY will be competing at the UIL Area J Marching Contest. We are extremely fortunate to be included in this competition. We will have an amazing opportunity not just performing, but watching some of the finest marching bands in the country.
Boo Bowl vs. Prosper (10.25)
COSTUMES: Costumes must comply with AISD Dress Code. No masks that cover eyes. Costume must not impede your ability to perform the halftime show. All costumes are subject to director approval. If asked to remove your costume, you must wear the uniform listed below or take an unexcused absence from the performance (0 for performance grade).
IF NO COSTUME: Escadrille Dri Fit, khaki shorts/long blue jeans, sneakers appropriate for marching band
Fall Band Concert: Tuesday (10.22)
Join us on Tuesday for our Fall Concert in the PAC Commons! This is an informal concert that will feature coffee and refreshments with donation. Bring family and friends for a fun social evening while supporting some of our talented students!
This concert will feature the following groups:
- Saxophone Ensemble
- Trombone Choir
- Varsity Jazz Band
- AHS Wind Ensemble
Students have not been issued concert uniforms yet; their director will assign their ensemble the appropriate attire for the concert.

- Fri 10/25: Rehearsal (7am); Home game vs. Prosper (Boo Bowl); Spring Trip Payment Due ($100)
REQUIRED MONDAY EVENING REHEARSAL NEXT WEEK (10/28: 5-7PM)
Eligibility & Band
Ineligible students are not able to participate in the following events and will be issued an alternative assignment for their performance grade:
- 10/25: Boo Bowl Game vs. Prosper
- 11/1: McKinney Boyd Away Game
- 11/2: UIL Area Contest
- 11/7: Plano East Home Game
From the 2024-2025 Band Handbook:
"The Allen Band Staff will enforce all TEA eligibility rules and regulations. Students who are ineligible will continue to rehearse during their band class, before and after school, and participate in curricular performances to earn their band grade. Ineligible students may not travel with the band or participate in extracurricular performances. Students should always check on an event if there is a question of their participation. Be advised that excessive absences from school may also result in a student being declared ineligible. CLICK HERE for the 2024-2025 Eligibility Calendar."
Band & Guard Tutoring Program
The Band Council has set up tutoring program for students seeking extra help in their academic classes. The link to the tutoring form below is not for students signing up for Band private lessons, but for classes outside of Band. Upperclassmen will work with students to understand their class’s content with the intended outcome of increased academic achievment. Students should be signed into their student accounts to access the form.
Obligations/Fees & Spring Trip Payments
The next Spring Trip Payment of $100 is due THIS FRIDAY October 25th
If you have any obligations from fees or past charges, please make those payments. Band staff will begin calling parents of students that have any obligations this week. Please note that if sales tax was not added to the fees, students have been charged the sales tax as an obligation. Students will not be able to participate in games if payments have not been made.
From the 2024-2025 Band Handbook:
"Students with outstanding balance for program fees will not be allowed to participate in program activities unless there is a payment plan in place with the program director. Lack of participation will lead to removal from the program at the beginning of the next grading period."
Payments can be submitted through the following ways:
- Drop a check or cash in the AHS Band safe. (Checks made payable to Allen ISD, driver's license # in the memo)
- Mail a payment to: Allen High School Band; 300 Rivercrest Blvd, Allen, TX 75002 (attn: Susan Fulk)
- Credit Card or Debit Card payment through SchoolPay - link below (a fee will be included in the final payment)
