HOLY ROSARY SCHOOL
NEWSLETTER | TERM 1| WEEK 4 | 23 FEB 2024
Mystics and sages of all traditions speak of the inner fire, the divine spark hidden in our very cells and in all that lives. This flame of love is the pure presence of God.
—Paula D’Arcy, “A Surrender to Love,” Oneing, Spring 2017
Hi Everyone,
Thank you to our P&F and to our SAC representatives. Meetings for both took place on Tuesday and it was really heartening to witness the interest and support for the activities taking place at school. It takes a lot of commitment to make a school run well, and we so appreciate that support.
Our Year Four Gang who entertained us all at Friday’s assembly. It was a lot of fun! We thank them and their teachers Alicia and Anthony for such a fabulous start to the assemblies for 2024.
Next Tuesday sees our Year Six Gang travel to the Swan Valley for four days of fun, friendship and adventure! Go well!
Have a great weekend,
Mark
Etiquette - lots of it today!
Toilet Etiquette
Please remind children how to use toilets properly. We have had some incidents where the toilets have been left in a messy state with toilet paper - and more - not where they should be (in the bowl and flushed away).
Parking Etiquette
We only had a few issues with upset neighbours last year, and we are very mindful of the need not to increase the issues and the angst. On Monday a near neighbour said she asked someone not to park on her driveway. She reports that the person gave her ‘a mouthful of abuse, ignored her and went and collected her children’. We all know that is not on!
Smoking Etiquette
This is a ‘No Smoking’ campus. We understand someone was smoking here the other day. If you see it, call it!
Basketball Courts Resurfacing Rescheduled
From Week 5, Monday 26th February to Friday March 15. The contractors have suggested an earlier timeline is preferable as the surface cures better in warm weather. We will be adjusting the play areas to accomodate this change, for the next 3 weeks.
Parent Volunteer Declaration
We appreciate the tremendous support Holy Rosary receives from our parent community, with no shortage of volunteers to help run tuckshop, school events and carnivals as just a sample. If you anticipate volunteering at Holy Rosary this year, please complete the short online form below. The declaration lasts for one year. The requirement is common to all schools.
School Fees
All School Fee Statements were emailed out to families last week. If you did not receive it, please contact the office or email hrsfinance@cewa.edu.au. A reminder that the Payment Option Form is required to be completed and returned by Friday 1 March.

Konnichiwa! This week we have been visiting Japan. It’s been a fun stop on our trip around the globe in support of our term theme “The World at Your Fingertips.” The library monitors have been demonstrating origami at lunch and it has been great to share Japanese travel experiences with many of our students. Numero is continuing to be a big hit on Fridays at 7.40 with Mr Scutti and Mr D’Aloia. Senior chess and Year Five book club info will be on the board in a couple of weeks.

The Year Six Christian Service Group is needing help to fill our local Vinnies Pantry. Vinnies are particularly in need of canned fish and meat, coffee, tea, vegemite and jam. Your child can deliver these to the tub in their classroom or the office before Friday 15th March. Thank you so very much for your support!
