This show will feature all dance tech classes, extra dances, BDT, featured soloists, and celebrate our graduating seniors! We will dance to the Songs of the 2000s!

Sunday, May 12th at 7:30pm in the Eastview Performing Arts Center (please park in the north lot).

ALL TICKETS are online $5 plus processing fee (please order prior to the show as all tickets are online and arrive 10 min prior to show to ensure seating!)

The EV Senior Party is looking for a new storage area for our amazing purchased and homemade decorations, bingo supplies, etc. Maybe you're a small business owner with a basement storage area or have a lead on a storage unit? The boys’ and girls’ golf coaches of District 196 are happy to make available the 2024 Dakota County Golf Coaches Discount Card as a fundraiser for their programs.

Each card costs $20, and allows the user special golf offers (usually discounted greens fees and discounted range ball baskets) at these 7 local golf courses:

• Cannon Golf Club

• Crystal Lake Golf Course

• Emerald Greens Golf Course

• Heritage Links Golf Course

• Inverwood Golf Course

• The Summit, and

• Valleywood Golf Course

The offers vary slightly from course to course, so please review the attached version of the card.

The Summer EBT program, called SUN Bucks, provides $40/month for families with school-aged children who are eligible for free or reduced-price school meals. The $40 per child – during June, July, and August – can be used to purchase healthy foods. Eligible families will get SUN Bucks on a S-EBT card mailed to their home for each child.

All colleges require that you send a final transcript with your graduation date before enrolling. You must request to send your final transcript by noon on June 5th to the college, university, or program you will attend in the fall.

Minnesota students who plan to attend college in fall 2024 are highly encouraged to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. Across the nation and statewide, FAFSA filing numbers are down compared to previous years.

This decreasing statistic comes at a time when more students than ever will qualify for Federal Pell Grants and be able to access game changing state financial aid programs, including the North Star Promise, the new scholarship program offering a tuition- and fee-free pathway for eligible students whose families make less than $80,000 per year.

For assistance with the FAFSA, Federal Student Aid offers students and families the ability to call, email or live chat on their Contact Center webpage.

Students should stop by the Counseling Office and get a pass to attend the college/university/military Rep Visit prior to the right visit. The visits are small group meetings typically lasting 20/30 minutes. These admission reps are often times the same people that review college applications, so it's a great connection for students.

The Eastview Lightning Dance Team will be holding tryouts for the 2024-2025 fall and winter season on Tuesday, May 21-Thursday, May 23 after school in the Main Gym at Eastview High School. Tryouts are open to those entering 8th grade through 12th grade.

Required uniform: Form-fitting, athletic/dance apparel, dance shoes, and tennis shoes with hair cleanly pulled back.

Attention Parents and Families of all Senior Athletes! Mark your calendars as we will be celebrating all of our Senior Athletes on Sunday, May 19th at 6:00 p.m. in the Main Gym. Students who have earned any of the following awards will receive individual recognition at the ceremony:

-Seniors who were selected as Lightning Award Winners during their Senior Year

-Seniors who were selected as Outstanding Academic Athletes during their Senior Year

-Seniors who were part of a Team or Individual Conference Champion and/or State Qualifier in their Senior Year

-Seniors who will be Summa Cum Laude Graduates who also lettered in at least one sport as a Senior

-Seniors who are Three Sport Letter Winners who lettered in Three MSHSL Sports OR District Sponsored Club Athletic teams as a Senior

-Athletic Department and Outside Sponsor Recognition Awards (Student and Scholar Athlete of the Year, ExCEL and AAA Awards etc.)

-ALL of our senior athletes planning on competing in collegiate athletics

Eastview Competition Cheer Tryouts start this upcoming Monday(May 13).

Are you looking for something to get involved in at Eastview? Have you ever had dreams of becoming a cheerleader? Look no further because competition cheerleading is what you are looking for. NO gymnastics or experience necessary!

We are looking for all current 7th - 11th grade (incoming 8th-12th) participants to try out for the upcoming 2024-25 season for the Competition Cheer Team at Eastview High School.

Even if you just have a little interest, come on by and check it out. You might think you can't do it, but you will be surprised what you can do!

Tryouts are held at Eastview H.S.

Attending each day is important. New material will be taught each day and you will be judged on all material. Please wear gym shoes and gym clothes.

VARSITY SOFTBALL

Lightning fall to Lakers 2-4 May 8

The Lakers took the lead in the first inning and despite a run late in the game, the Lightning couldn't take the lead. Hannah Soderbeck lead Eastview offensively with 3 hits and Ireland Murphy had 2.

Eastview loses to Hastings 6-3 May 7

Hastings scored first with a run in the first inning and a run in the 2nd. The Lightning slowly chipped away, but couldn't hang on to the lead. Murphy lead the Lightning with 3 hits.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

The lightning boys, JV volleyball team went 1-1 this week, losing a close match to Shakopee Tuesday night, before hosting Farmington last night. The boys won their battle with the Tigers last night 2-0. The boys pulled out a tight first set win 25–23, Before pulling away in a more convincing, 25-15 second set win.

The varsity boys volleyball crew hosted Shakopee for a battle of undefeated teams Tuesday night. Despite a solid team effort, the Lightning lost 3-1 to the Sabers. Last night, the team hosted the Farmington tigers in South Suburban conference play. The guys fought through a back and forth first set coming out on top 28-26. In the second and third sets, the Lightning found their rhythm and tightened up on defense to pull away 25-19, 25-15. The win moves their conference record to 3-1 and their record on the year to 12-1. JV and varsity head to the St. Paul Johnson tournament this weekend before heading to Burnsville for a key conference match next Tuesday.
