Supporting Decision Making
Course Selection - We are now within the "student window" of the course selection process. This is the time where students have the opportunity to choose elective classes for next year. Please continue to have conversations at home about good decision making using the information here. Students should take classes that best supports their interests, future goals, create a balanced workload, and meet graduation requirements. Students should try not to pick classes based on what their friends take. Lastly, teachers and counselors are available for questions and input.
Technology - As our school integrates AI modules to teach students how to use artificial intelligence responsibly and effectively, you can play a vital role in reinforcing these lessons at home. Encourage discussions about AI's benefits and limitations, emphasizing the importance of proper use, critical thinking, and verifying AI-generated information. You can also reinforce the guidelines for responsible usage in academics and everyday life that the school has set.
Car Safety - As you may know, we have certain procedures for arrival and dismissal. Please support us in making this process as safe as possible for our students. Follow the directions of teachers on bus duty, yield for buses, follow all traffic rules, and watch speed. This is a great opportunity to model car safety for your child as well.
