WMS updates and reminders

This Friday, 12/20, the building will be on a modified schedule as the day will begin with performances from our music programs, and a building wide assembly. Other portions of the day will be dedicated to building wide design challenges as we head into winter break.

During the afternoon, students will be permitted to use their PBIS 'Warrior Cards' to purchase a cup of hot chocolate, or they may pay a $1.

The middle school office will be closed for the duration of the winter break. No staff will be available during this time.

Three weeks remain in the quarter. Semester class will end half way through January and new elective courses will begin.

Green Screen Art

Students utilized their photography skills to take pictures for their digital arts projects.

Digital Art

The images were layered using photoshop over backgrounds of students choosing.

Bead mosaics

Students in Mrs. Mahan's Art classes developed various mosaics utilizing beads as a part of a symmetrical design.

Disco Mosaic

this student made their own matching disco ball mosiac to match the Art hallway as a part of their radial mosaic.

Glazing ceramics

Students are working on their glazing skills as they finalize their ceramics projects

Expression mugs

Students in Art Foundations 7/8 were challenged with creating a ceramic mug that demonstrated a visual story or expression.

Athletics

Hometown Ticketing

Varsity Ticket events are $7 up to 1 hour before the event. At the gate tickets are $8 (use of a card includes a fee at the gate). Middle School tickets are $5.

All athletes should enter and exit the building through the 600 hall (Door 7) entrance before and after practice each day.

Transportation & Attendance information

Bus concerns:

We ask that you please contact the Transportation Department directly at 740-927-5901 with any concerns about your student’s bus (late arrival or other issues). Their phones are manned 6:00 am to 5:00 pm, and they have direct contact with all buses.

Attendance:

Please call the 24 hour WMS attendance line at (740) 927-6807 to report student absences. This voicemail box is available 24/7 and messages are retrieved on school days between the hours of 7:00am through 3:00pm.

If your student will miss school due to a pre-planned absence, please complete this Trip/Vacation Authorization Form.
