Good morning Fulton Families,
As we approach American Education Week, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible work happening at Fulton and the importance of education in our community. This week is a wonderful opportunity to recognize our dedicated teachers, staff, and, most importantly, our amazing students.
During this special week, we encourage you to engage with your children about their learning experiences and to show appreciation for the educators who inspire them every day. Whether it’s a simple note of thanks or sharing a positive story about their school experience, your support makes a significant difference.
Let’s come together to honor the value of education and the vital role it plays in shaping our future. Thank you for being an essential part of our school community!
Wishing you wave of joy,
Dr. Burks, Mrs. Liwosz, & Mrs. Sillers

HCPSS A La Carte Items
HCPSS A la carte services have always been a component of the food services program and are intended to provide a variety of additional, approved, and compliant food items that may be purchased to complement school meals or meals brought from home. All students will have equal opportunity to purchase a la carte items during for a fee.
Al la carte items comply with USDA Smart Snacks guidelines and specifically the HCPSS Wellness Policy 9090 pertaining to the Institute of Medicine Nutritional standards.
This year we currently have the following items for ala carte "snack":
Whole grain sugar or double chocolate chip cookie, .50 cents
Sidekicks, (gluten free) fruit juice ice cups, .75 cents
Whole grain pretzel, .75 cents
Rice Krispy treat, $1.00
Students not purchasing a school meal will be able to purchase a la carte items at approximately 15 minutes after the lunch period begins. This enables school meals to be served first and encourages the use of money for the purchase of a nutritionally balanced meal.
School staff, including lunch monitors, will not decide who purchases a la carte items on specific days or any day.
Students must have funds in their meal accounts to buy a la carte items or second meals. There is no limit to the number of a la carte items a student can buy. Parents are encouraged to discuss acceptable a la carte purchasing for their children.
Parents have the right to restrict a la carte purchasing for their students. Parents may contact the Food and Nutrition Service office at 410-313-6738 or 410-313-6744 to add restrictions to their child’s meal account, including placing a limit or blocking the student’s account for a la carte items.
Accessing Digital Tools at Home
Students can access any digital tools at home!
Check out the many tools available hcpss.me. This includes Brainpop, Typing Agent, Wixie, Adobe Express, anything in MackinVIA (all the databases, some audiobooks, and some ebooks), their HCPL library card, and the Public Access Catalog for our Fulton library. Students can also access Canvas, of course.

Generosity: Making someone’s day by giving something away
For the month of November, our character trait is generosity!
Chat with you child about generosity: share about a time in your life that someone showed you generosity. Share with your child how it made you feel and how you felt when you are able to be generous to others?
Ask your child the following questions:
- Have you seen or experienced anyone show generosity?
- What’s one thing you have that you could give away as an act of generosity?
