Senior Parents:
The 2023 Baccalaureate service will be held on Sunday, May 21 at 2:00 pm in the BHS Auditorium. Baccalaureate is a student-led, non-denominational service that provides an opportunity for the graduates, their families and their friends to pray, sing and hear inspirational messages that will challenge our seniors as they graduate from high school. Dress is business casual so caps and gowns are not required.
Staff Spotlight - Zane Hicks
Staff Spotlight - Roy Kiser
Coach Kiser is in his 22nd year at Burnet High School and his 32nd year in education. He has been the head boys basketball coach in Burnet since 2003. Coach Kiser is teaching English IV and PE. He is also the head boys and girls Cross Country coach in addition to his assignment as the boys golf coach.
Coach Kiser graduated from Abilene High School in 1986. He earned his Bachelor of Education degree from Hardin-Simmons University in 1991. He and his wife Gina, who is the Middle School librarian, have three sons. Derek, who graduated Burnet HS in 2014, is a Physician's Assistant for an Orthopedic surgeon in Frisco and is married to Shelby. They have one son, Hudson who is 2 years old. Drew Kiser, who graduated Burnet HS in 2017 is a mortgage lender for Benchmark Mortgage and is married to Paris who was a standout basketball player for Burnet HS and now plays at Hardin-Simmons. Luke Kiser, a 2021 graduate of Burnet HS, is a sophomore at UT Dallas where he plays basketball and studies Hospital Administration.
Outside of school, their focus is on supporting and spending time with their family, serving at their church, yard care and home improvements.

Staff Spotlight - Ben Speer
Coach Speer grew up in Dalhart, TX and graduated from Dalhart HS in 1998. He attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University where he earned a degree in Kinesiology. This is his 20th year in the teaching and coaching profession. His career has taken him from the Panhandle to DFW, to the greater San Antonio area, to a small town outside of Lubbock and now to the beautiful Hill Country. He has taught numerous Social Studies courses throughout his career, and he currently teaches US Government & Economics. Coach Speer is the Defensive Coordinator for Football and the Boys Head Track Coach. Coaching and mentoring kids is his passion, and he is grateful for the opportunity to encourage and motivate kids to be men and women of integrity and to be the best versions of themselves. wife Jenn have been married for nearly 13 years. They have four amazing children, Brecken (9), Sadie (8), Weston (5) and Bonnie (4). They enjoy live music, dancing, playing board games, traveling, and volunteering at church. He and his family are enjoying being back in the Hill Country and getting involved in this special Burnet community.
