Happy October, Cardinal Families!
We are now going into Month 3. Our students are thriving and should be used to the ins and outs of our learning program. It's been so great to see the progress being made across all grade levels. The energy on campus is great.. .as we have both our Independent Study Charter and the Tracy Young Adult Program on campus. Our group of students is unique and such a joy to have here! This year we will be having our Annual Cardinal Candy Crawl. This will be on Thursday, 10/31 from 1:00-3:00pm. Come by and enjoy some fun! There will be a room/cubicle decorating contest, so come by and enjoy the festivities!
Spirit Wear!
We have extended our spirit wear sales!!! YAY! Sales close this FRIDAY, 10/4 and you can choose to ship it here for free to school for pick up. https://bit.lyTracyCharterSchool
Success Center Study Hall
The Success Center is open! We have had students coming in consistently throughout the week to work on their assignments. Some come for the social part (with their classmates), some come to get work done... Either way, it's a space for our students to come in and be on campus. We have two academic interventionists available for students, if they need some help. These interventionists may also be reaching out to you and your student, if a teacher sees that they need some extra support on assignments or various subject areas.
This is open to our 6th-12th grade students, Mon - Fri, 10-2:30.
Weekly Advisory Meetings (9th-12th)
This year, we started a homeroom advisory class for all of our students. This is a place for teachers to relay information and explain or work on class-wide assignments (Xello, FastBridge, etc.) This is a required class for all 9th - 12th graders, and you do receive elective credit for participating weekly. This should be on all your Teams calendars, and you must log in every Wednesday to receive the credit.
Daily Meetings (6th-8th)
We are continuing the daily meetings for our 6th-8th graders. This is to guide students through upcoming assignments and explain expectations or changes. If you miss your daily meeting, please be sure to check in with your teacher to find out any pertinent information.
Parent Teacher Conferences
It's almost that time! Parent teacher conferences will be the week of 10/21, during your student's assigned meeting time. Please take the time to sit with your student to go over their progress. we will be about halfway through the semester, so the teacher can go over a plan to finish off the rest of the semester in a timely manner. (See picture below for screenshot of email)
Spelling Bee (4th-9th Grade)
For the first time, we will be part of the District/County Spelling Bee. Please see flyer below for more information. Here is the link to sign up to receive a word list.

6th Grade Science Camp
Our 6th graders have the opportunity to attend Science Camp again! Last year, we had about 1/3 of our students attend, and they had a wonderful time making new friends and learning outdoors! And it's a way for them to start building their independence. We have an informational meeting on Tuesday, 10/1 @ 3 pm, Room C7, here at school.
Parent Square
Parent Square is our new community communication platform that replaced our current messaging system. You should have received an email from the Technology Department with the directions on how to access this system. I would advise you to log in to text message options, so you can access our posts and information quickly.
Red Ribbon Week
Please see flyer below for our Spirit Wear themes for the week. Please come in to your meeting / class dressed up (Dressing up for our virtual meeting works as well!)
As you know, this newsletter is updated regularly with announcements and flyers. There is also a translation option at the top of the page, for our students and families that speak other languages.
We continue to look forward to each and everyday with your student and thank you for your support from home!
Thank you,
Annabelle Lee
