Porter High School Digital Programs
September 5th, 2024
Porter High School Parents,
We are excited to share information about the key programs and tools we use here at Porter High School. Whether you're familiar with these platforms or new to New Caney ISD, this guide will help you navigate them.
If this is your first time using any of these programs, you may need to create an account to gain access. Our goal is to ensure that you have everything you need to stay connected and support your student's learning.
Should you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our campus media specialist. We're here to help make your experience smooth and successful!
ClassLink
ClassLink is New Caney ISD's Single Sign-On (SSO) system, allowing students to easily access all campus and district programs, like Canvas, with just one login. While parents don’t need to use ClassLink themselves, it's helpful to understand how it works. In case your student needs to access school programs from a personal device instead of their district-issued Chromebook, knowing how to log in can save time and ensure they stay connected to their learning.
CANVAS
Canvas is New Caney ISD's Learning Management System, where teachers post classwork, homework, and other instructional materials. As a parent, you can create your own Canvas account to observe your student's activity, track their assignments, and view feedback from teachers.
Check out the images below for step-by-step instructions on how to connect with your student on Canvas and stay engaged with their learning progress.
Skyward
Skyward is New Caney ISD's official Student Information System (SIS) and gradebook. Both parents and students can use Skyward to stay informed and up-to-date on key academic and personal information, including:
- Official grades
- Progress reports and report cards
- Class schedules
- Emergency contact information
Skyward provides easy access to the essential details you need to support your student's academic success!
Remind
Remind is our campus-to-parent communication tool, designed to keep you informed and engaged. Parents can download the Remind app or access it via the website to view important messages. If you are listed as Guardian 1 in Skyward, you will automatically be connected to your student in Remind once you create an account using the same email address from Skyward.
You can receive updates from your student's teachers, Porter High School, and NCISD in three ways:
- Through the Remind app
- Via email
- Via text message
If you are Guardian 2 in Skyward, you can still connect with your student on Remind by either:
- Entering a join code provided by your child’s teacher
- Asking the teacher to manually add you to the account

Paper Tutoring
Your student has round-the-clock access to free, live tutoring through Paper! By logging into ClassLink, students can connect with a tutor anytime for help with their coursework. With Paper, your student can:
- Review math homework
- Submit writing for feedback
- Prepare for upcoming quizzes
- Get support with assignments
- Practice reading
- And much more!
This is a fantastic resource to ensure your student has the help they need, whenever they need it!
