From the Principal
May 31, 2024
Good People,
There are many reasons to celebrate this last newsletter of the school year...
1) June is Pride Month! June is the month in which we celebrate the contributions of our LGBTQ+ community. More information on Pride Month can be found here: https://www.loc.gov/lgbt-pride-month/
2) Juneteenth is this month! Juneteenth is a National Holiday. More information about Juneteenth can be found here: https://nmaahc.si.edu/explore/stories/historical-legacy-juneteenth
3) Our students have fun planned for next week! Today students were able to use a new feature in Infinite Campus called Responsive Scheduler to pick their choices for next weeks flex days.
- Each day will have 3 flex sessions which your student will choose what they want to do
- Each grade has a scheduled field trip: Monday is 7th grade, Tuesday is 6th grade and Wednesday is 8th grade. There will be a dedicated space and activities for students who are not going on the field trip here at school.
4) Excellence Awards are next week! We are looking forward to honoring our students for their academic excellence, character (Panther Award) and their participation in Activities and Athletics. Please note that the postcard has an error, the 7th grade awards will start at 7:30pm.
5) This weekend our talented students will be performing the Mind of a Middle Schooler! Please consider seeing this musical revue which will be performed at Armstrong High School Friday at 7:00pm and Saturday at 3:00 and 6:00pm. Please see the linked video below!
Finally, thank you for taking the time to read this newsletter all year! It has been an absolute pleasure to partner with you all in the education of your students. They are really great kids. Have a great summer!
In Partnership,
Principal Naida

Share your thoughts about this fall’s levy referendum in short survey
We’re asking staff and families for a few moments to respond to a five-question survey about this fall’s capital technology levy.
Things to know:
- Voters will be asked in November to renew a capital technology levy that would provide our schools with about $7 million annually for another ten years.
- This funding is currently used for student learning devices, school technology, online learning systems, and digital teaching resources.
- The District would also use these funds in 2025-2026 to enhance safety and security at district schools, including secured entrances and security cameras.
- The district proposes to keep the tax rate the same.
- If voters do not approve the renewal, the School District will lose $7 million in funding and need to make cuts to technology and District operations in the 2025-2026 school year.
Thank you for your time. Please respond to the survey before Thursday, June 6.
