What's Happening at LMS
March is National Reading Month!
March is a time to celebrate the joy of reading and encourage people of all ages to make reading a daily habit. At Legg Middle School, we recognize that literacy is the foundation of lifelong learning, and our Literacy Engagement Committee has been working hard to foster a love of reading across our school community.
Throughout the month, our staff and students will have opportunities to participate in engaging literacy activities designed to spark curiosity, build connections through shared stories, and reinforce the power of reading. We’re excited to cultivate a culture where every student sees themselves as a reader!
We encourage families to join in by setting aside time to read together, discussing books at home, and modeling the value of literacy in everyday life. Together, we can make reading a lifelong adventure!
Celebrating Success at LMS!
Student of the Month
At LMS, we take pride in recognizing the incredible achievements, character, and dedication of our students. Each month, we honor those who exemplify our school’s values of responsibility, respect, and self-direction. This November, we are thrilled to celebrate our Students of the Month, who have gone above and beyond to make a positive impact on our school community. Their hard work, kindness, and leadership inspire us all, and we couldn’t be prouder to highlight their contributions. Congratulations to this month’s outstanding honorees!
6th Grade Student of the Month - Luis Palacios
Team Spirit would like to recognize Luis Palacios as our Student of the Month for March. Luis is a positive addition to all of his classrooms. Luis is a quiet, hardworking role model to his classmates. He is dependable and always ready to step in and lend a hand with helping the teacher or another student who is struggling. Luis doesn't call attention to himself but is a great role model and does the right thing in all situations. Luis leads by example and makes all of our classrooms a better place to learn!
7th Grade Student of the Month - AJ Thornton
Team Inspire is pleased to nominate AJ Thornton as our student of the month. AJ consistently demonstrates exceptional academic performance, actively participates in class discussions, and goes above and beyond in the classroom. He is a positive influence for students throughout the school, and his dedication to learning makes him the excellent student that he is. AJ also exhibits strong leadership skills, always willing to lend a helping hand to his peers and encourage those around him. His kindness, work ethic, and enthusiasm for learning set a great example for others to follow. Once again, Team Inspire is proud to have AJ represent us as our student of the month!
8th Grade Student of the Month - Sergio Atohoun
Sergio Atohoun is an excellent choice for Student of the Month. He demonstrates many great qualities that make an upstanding student and a great person. In the classroom, Sergio is always prepared and ready to learn. He demonstrates a true growth mindset, participating in class fully without fear of getting an answer wrong. Sergio is willing to work with anyone in class, and will reach out to other students who might not have a partner in class. Sergio is fun-loving, trustworthy, dependable, and kind. His classmates look to him as a friend, a leader, and a role model.
The teachers of Team Supreme are proud to select Sergio Atohoun as the March Student of the Month!
