Heaton Hotline Week 9 Term 3: 2024
We nurture and inspire every child to dream big.
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are thrilled to announce that Mrs Holly Foot will be joining us as the new principal! Holly comes to us from Hamilton Public School, bringing with her a wealth of experience and knowledge. She’ll officially begin her journey with us on Monday the 18th of November (Term 4, Week 6) and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome her to our wonderful school community.
This week, our school will be shining bright as our talented students take the stage for an unforgettable school concert. The show kicks off at 4:30pm but we recommend arriving around 4:10pm to get settled and organised so you don’t miss a moment of the fun! Our fantastic parent group will be selling drinks and chips on the night, so bring some cash and support them while enjoying the show. We can’t wait to see you there for an evening of entertainment, laughter, and community spirit! Let’s make it a night to remember!
We are inviting parents and carers to participate in the Tell Them From Me survey, which provides valuable insights into your perspectives on various aspects of our school. The survey covers areas such as student engagement, wellbeing, teaching practices, and the overall learning environment. The survey is anoymous and takes about 15 minutes to complete. Your participation would be greatly appreciated and the feedback we gather will help guide us in making meaningful changes that will benefit our entire school community. Please see the information below to access the survey.
I'd like to remind everyone of the importance of clearly labelling your child's clothing. With so many students wearing similar outfits, it's easy for jumpers, hats, and jackets to go missing or be accidentally swapped. Labelling your child's belongings not only helps us return lost items quickly, but it also teaches them responsibility for their personal things. Even a simple name tag or initial can make a big difference. We appreciate your support in encouraging students to look after their uniforms and belongings, helping us reduce lost property and keeping our school community organised.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the concert this Thursday.
Warm regards,
Mr Chris Taylor.
Welcome Mrs Holly Foot

6H Resilience Project
The students in 6H have been working each week to build skills around gratitude and recognising the ways everyone is important and special. Today they are recording their very own “Gratitude Podcast” where they discuss the people in their lives they are most grateful for and all the reasons why. Such an awesome learning opportunity, gaining skills that will last a lifetime!

Kinder Enrolments 2025
If you haven't already, now is the time to enrol your child at our school.
Children can start Kindergarten at the beginning of the school year if they turn 5 on or before 31 July of that year. By law, all children must be in compulsory schooling by their 6th birthday.
Deciding when your child should start school is a personal choice. It can be helpful to discuss this with your child's preschool teacher, carer, doctor, or your local primary school. Our teachers are trained to support your child regardless of their age or level of development.
Children develop at different rates and acquire skills in unique ways. Our school tailors its approach to meet the needs, learning styles, and progress rates of individual students. We also plan learning experiences based on the skills students bring with them to school.
Supporting Student Attendance
We want to keep you informed about our approach to addressing student absenteeism. If we notice a pattern of frequent absences for your child, our class teachers will reach out with a phone call. The goal of these calls is to better understand any challenges or concerns that might be impacting your child’s attendance. By engaging in open dialogue, we aim to provide the necessary support and work together to address any issues that may arise. Your cooperation is essential in helping us ensure that every student remains engaged and has the best chance to succeed. If you have any questions or need to discuss your child’s attendance, please feel free to contact us.

Sentral Parent App
Just a reminder to please use the parent app and make sure your notifications are switched on. I've checked into the issue some people were having with notifications, but the company assures me it's not a problem for any other school. If you have any problems, please see the office. All notes and finance will now go through this system, and you can address your absences and permissions during this time.
Please click the document below for support around using the app for accepting activities and for paying for excursions. Sentral Finance Parent FAQs
