Weekly Wrap Up
Maple Place Middle School - 3/28/24 Week 29
Principal's Message :
Good Evening, Maple Place Families,
It's hard to believe that Spring Break is already here. As we approach the long week off, I wish you and your families a great week of rest and relaxation. I am hopeful that we will have some nice weather and are finally able to enjoy some warmer temperatures. But, whatever you are doing this spring break, I hope you are making memories with your families and friends.
I wanted to pass along information regarding the Monmouth County Schools Partnership for Wellness Symposium, Registration for the MCSPW Symposium is now open! This meaningful evening will take place at Brookdale Community College on April 15th beginning at 6PM. Featuring a keynote by Carli Bushoven of the Madison Holleran Foundation and breakout sessions curated for the needs of students (grades 6-8), parents and educators. The evening will conclude with a panel discussion by mental health experts and student leaders from around Monmouth County, discussing the importance of mental health and wellness. Additionally, nearly thirty local, County and State agencies will be in attendance providing meaningful resources on an array of topics. Please join us as we continue to work together to support the mental wellness of our communities! #BeYouBeWell

Student Council Spring Fling Dance:
The Maple Place Student Council will be holding its first Spring Fling Dance on Thursday, April 25th for students in grades 5 through 7. The dance will run from 7:00-9:00pm. Students must be present at the dance by 7:30pm for entry.
Just a reminder - April 25th is Take Your Child to Work Day. Students attending work with a parent or guardian are eligible to attend the dance as long as you have notified the absentee line that this is why your child is absent. Also, please know that dress for the dance is casual. There is no need to purchase a new outfit or get dressed up. Just come as you are!
Mean Girls, Jr.:
Last week, Maple Placer presented their spring musical production of Mean Girls, Jr. The show was performed to almost an SOLD OUT crowd all three nights! Director, Mr. D.J. Brown, and Musical Director, Mrs. Erica Bach, did an amazing job with the student cast, while Mrs. Daley worked with the Stage Crew, Mrs. Canessa provided the set design, and Mrs. Cooper put together the costumes. The cast and crew worked tirelessly for months prior to the show which allowed them to put on a truly fantastic show. Congratulations to all involved! We are so proud of your accomplishments. To our 8th grade students who are moving on to high school, we can't wait to see what you do next! A special thank you to all of our parents and community members who came out to support our students and staff!
Anything But A Backpack:
The Maple Place Student Council sponsored it's third annual Anything But a Backpack Day today. Thank you to all of our students who participated and donated non-perishables to Lunch Break to help those in need this spring. Thank you to Mrs. Lisotto and our Student Council members for coordinating, and our Student Council Executive Board for collecting the food items this morning.
