Thompson Friday Forecast
November 3, 2023
From the Principal...Matt Clark
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, we had five awesome days at Thompson this week as we entered into November.
Halloween is a highlight in every middle school, every year and this year was no exception. This year was no exception as students and staff alike really embraced the spirit (pun intended) of the holiday. Even the TMS administrative team joined in the fun (see below)
To wrap up the week on a high note, we have the pleasure of three performances of School House Rock Live (Jr.). I saw the performance last night and can’t express enough how outstanding the production was. I want to extend a massive shout-out to all the students who poured their hearts and talents into the cast and crew, as well as our dedicated staff directors Michelle Rybski and Breena Stombres. It is a testament to their hard work, creativity, and commitment that made this production such a success. If you have the opportunity, you should head to the Haines Center to check it out tonight (7:00) or tomorrow (2:00). You won’t regret your decision.
Belonging Survey
This past Wednesday, November 1, and moving forward, we will be collecting information about the D303 Strategic Plan Core Value of Belonging on the last student attendance Monday of each month. This will be in the form of four to five questions for students in grade levels three through twelve. If you would like to preview the form they are available on the https://district.d303.org/departments/assessment page. Scroll to the D303 Feedback and Surveys link, click, and read the section on Strategic Plan Core Value - Sense of Belonging Check in. The monthly collection of information on this core value will be used to better understand the current and evolving state of student belonging and consider areas for improvement.
As we move forward into November, I am filled with excitement for the many more wonderful moments and opportunities our TMS community will create. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school, and I look forward to sharing more great experiences with you.
Wishing you and your families a fantastic month ahead!
Veterans Day Assembly
Veterans Day is a time to honor American veterans of all wars and branches. Many of us know, or have known, family or friends who have served in the armed forces to defend our country. This year we are celebrating Veterans Day with a school assembly on Friday, November 10th at 9:00 am to honor these individuals and acknowledge their dedication and service.
