Dance Marathon began in 1991 as an Indiana University student-led event and has since expanded to a nation-wide event. Westfield Dance Marathon launched in 2016, making history by raising $36,130.17 in its first year—a record-breaking amount for an inaugural event! Everything they raise goes to the Herman B. Wells Center for Pediatric Research at Riley Hospital for Children, where groundbreaking work is improving pediatric treatment worldwide. In 2022, WHS was recognized as the top high school Dance Marathon.

Strong Minds, Strong Choices
Last week, Westfield Washington Schools hosted its first-ever Strong Minds, Strong Choices event, bringing parents together from across the district for an evening of learning and meaningful conversation. The event focused on building strong communication skills and navigating complex topics like supporting children through anxiety and ADHD. With insightful guidance from keynote speakers Chris and Kristin Ballard (featured), along with Purdue professor Dave Randich, parents gained valuable tools to foster understanding and resilience in their children.

Westfield Wrestling Comes to a Close
Westfield wrestling made history this season, with two athletes competing at State: 106-pound Connor Maddox and 285-pound Job Mavrick. Facing fierce competition, Maddox battled his way to an impressive 4th-place finish in the 106 division. This season was one for the record books, as the Shamrocks secured their first-ever regional championship. Congratulations to the entire team on a great season!
Making Waves at State: WHS Swim and Dive
Congratulations to the WHS Girls' Swim and Dive Team on their performance at the IHSAA State Championships! The Lady Rocks competed in six races, improving their times in three during prelims—an outstanding effort. Way to go, Rocks!
The WHS Boys' Swim and Dive Team placed third at Sectionals and qualified two relays and three individual races for the State Finals. Best of luck to them as they compete this Saturday!

Rock Strong Award Nominations
The Rock Strong Award presented by the Westfield Education Foundation is a quarterly award, given out at each school and operations to recognize teachers, instructional assistants, instructional coaches, building secretaries, bus drivers, substitute teachers, food service staff and operations staff for the great work they do for our children and our community!
Each quarter, all schools and operations will review nominations from staff, students, families and the community and select someone who represents its values and culture to receive the Rock Strong Award and a special gift.
Our WHS Culinary Team Can Cater an Event
FCCLA Foodies Rock is a fully functioning foodservice operation that is student centered and fostered through the Westfield High School Culinary Arts program. Our members are highly trained in customer service, hospitality, culinary techniques, food safety and sanitation. Foodies Rock holds a Food Permit by the Hamilton County Board of Health, Advisors Nikki Heflin and Bryan Ferreira are ServSafe Manager certified, and will follow the National Restaurant Association’s Guidelines for food preparation. Chef Heflin and Chef Ferreira each have over 20 years of industry experience, and love guiding their students in making both the optics and cuisine for your event out of this world! Safe Sitter Classes
Westfield Washington Township is offering Safe Sitter classes! Safe Sitter is a medically accurate childcare curriculum that gives young adolescents the skills to be safe, nurturing babysitters. Mrs. White will teach important life skills- business, medical and safe habits- in this high quality course. Babysitters know how to keep children safe and how to respond in an emergency. Graduates will receive a Safe Sitter certification. Please bring a sack lunch. These classes fill up quickly so don't delay!

Westfield Washington Schools is one of the fastest growing school districts in the state of Indiana. With an “A” rating from the Indiana Department of Education, WWS enrolled nearly 9,700 students, in 2023-24, across six elementary, one intermediate, middle, and high school.
