Peek of the Week

JANUARY 12-18, 2025
Dear STCS Families,
We are back to school and busier than ever! Please be sure to read this newsletter carefully each week for all of the information, news and events occurring at STCS. We have a busy winter!
I'm excited to extend an invitation to you for Family Night with Smart Families on January 28! This event is more than just a gathering; it represents a crucial step toward building a stronger, more connected community for our families, drawing inspiration from the principles and guidance of Smart Families. Our focus extends beyond the realm of digital habits, aiming to establish a comprehensive, supportive environment that safeguards our children from various high-risk behaviors.
During Family Night, you will create your own Family Code, a cornerstone in reinforcing our dedication to guiding our children through the complexities of modern life, which encompasses far more than just smartphone usage. This initiative is pivotal for every family, intending to foster an atmosphere where growth, learning, and well-being are prioritized for children of all ages.
Your participation is not just welcome; it's essential. Together, we have the opportunity to lay the groundwork for a positive, healthy future for our community. This night promises to be a meaningful occasion for us to unite, share insights, and take concrete steps toward cultivating an environment where our children can flourish, free from the undue pressures and risks associated with early exposure to smartphones, digital distractions, and other high-risk behaviors.
We look forward to your presence at Family Night, where we will embrace this significant opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of our children and the fabric of our community.
Please be sure to RSVP for the January 28 dinner HERE.
Finally, National Catholic Schools Week will occur January 26 - February 1. We are thrilled to celebration our school, our students, our Parish, our parents and volunteers and our teachers during this special week that salutes Catholic schools across the U.S. Stay tuned for more information soon!
Love and Light,
Sarah Fox
Principal

IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR 8TH GRADE PARENTS AND STUDENTS
The first round of high school application dates are quickly approaching. Below are important updates and guidance for what comes next:
Upcoming Dates: Application Deadlines
- January 15th: St. John XXIII, St. Pius, St. Thomas, Strake Jesuit
Parents/Student Responsibilities
Parents/Students must complete the school application online through your student portals. In addition, parents will need to pay the application fee. Mrs. Saunders has created folders with each student's documents. These folders include 6th and 7th grade report cards, NWEA testing results for 5th to 7th grade, and the scores at the beginning of the year 8th grade. Mrs. Saunders will send these folders to all parents by December 6 so you have a copy. You can choose to upload these documents yourself to your portals. In addition, she will send these documents directly to the admissions department for the schools your student wishes to apply to in an effort to ensure that they receive the documentation they need. Parents will also need to upload their child's ISEE scores if they are not retaking the ISEE.
Supporting Documents from the School
Teacher recommendations and transcripts from the first semester grades are not due until January 15th for Duchesne Academy, IWA, and St. Agnes. The remainder of the schools have a due date of January 31st. So you will see that those records are still outstanding until the first week of January when we return from break. Please note we are aware these documents will show up missing until then. We cannot send these documents until the first semester grades are finalized. These documents will be directly sent from STCS.
ISEE Retest Date
STCS will offer a retest date for ISEE on Saturday, January 11th. This falls within the Winter testing window. Schools will still accept updated ISEE scores until then. Our registration EVENT CODE: HYHQGBH8. You must arrive at school no later than 8:30AM so we can settle into testing. Testing will start promptly at 9:00AM and last until approximately noon. No accommodation testing will be provided for this testing session. Drop-off and pick-up will be at the front of the school. Please reach out to Mrs. Saunders if you have any questions.
2025-2026 ADMISSIONS SEASON IS IN FULL SWING
The 2025-2026 admissions season is in full swing! If parents have friends or family who are interested in joining STCS next year, the application is available on our website under Admissions Process.
Re-enrollment for currently enrolled students will take place during the second semester, as usual. Parents will receive a separate email about re-enrollment in early 2025.
For new applicants, the application deadline to be considered for admission in our first round of decisions for the 2025-2026 school year is Friday, January 31, 2025. Beyond this date STCS WILL continue to accept applications so long as there is space in the grade. PK3 applicants must be three years old as of September 1, 2025 and toilet-trained before school begins in August 2025.
The Admissions Office is scheduling on-campus tours every Tuesday morning while school is in session. If you have any questions regarding the admissions process at St. Theresa, please contact Mrs. McCarty.
